We are looking for a Project Manager to be part of the Infectious Diseases Programme area in the Novo Nordisk Foundation. You will be providing programme oversight and supporting the team in managing projects across the entire Infectious Diseases portfolio.
The Novo Nordisk Foundation’s (NNF) Infectious Diseases programme area leads the development of strategic initiatives and manage grants that support infectious diseases research both in Denmark and globally to enable better prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of selected global pathogen threats.
Within the NNF 2030 strategy there is an ambitious aim to decrease the global burden and threat of infectious diseases. The Infectious diseases programme area was formally established in 2022 to develop new strategic initiatives and manage existing programmes aligned with this ambition. These include programmes within vaccines and immunity (e.g., NIVI); viruses and epidemic preparedness (e.g., PAD initiative); as well as bacterial and fungal pathogens and AMR.
To further enhance our efforts in an increasingly complex scientific area, we are looking for a highly motivated colleague with excellent project management skills.
Our Infectious Diseases team is made up of 9 dedicated colleagues from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. The job
As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in managing and keeping oversight of our Infectious Diseases portfolio of projects, grants and activities. Your key tasks will be to:
- Support the Infectious Diseases Programme area by applying general project management expertise in the development, design and implementation of new and ongoing projects.
- Keep oversight of the Infectious Diseases project portfolio including: developing and maintaining portfolio management tools, gathering data and undertaking analyses to inform project and programme development, monitoring and tracking progress, deadlines, and deliverables, supporting the overall work organisation and planning incl. monitoring timelines and workload distribution
- Lead the production and maintenance of relevant templates, documents, reports and presentation material in alignment with organisational templates and processes.
- Coordinate and provide general team support in close alignment with administrative colleagues, including for internal and external scientific evaluation of proposals
- planning and organising workshops, conferences and meetings
- Drive engagements with internal and external stakeholders including setting agendas, taking minutes, and following up on actions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide scientific/technical support to the Infectious Diseases Vice President in the preparation of key documents, presentations and briefs related to Infectious Diseases projects and programmes.
Professional and personal qualifications
We welcome candidates with excellent project management skills who are structured, collaborative and highly motivated to contribute to solving global challenges within infectious diseases
Furthermore, we expect you to have:
- a master’s degree in relevant life or health sciences (e.g. biology, public health, global health, or medical science) with a minimum of 5+ years of work experience that includes scientific project- and/or research management, ideally within infectious diseases.
- strong analytical skills and the ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously
- strong communication skills including oral and written fluency in English
- high level of IT skills within Microsoft Office
- knowledge of the infectious diseases research ecosystem in Denmark and globally, as well as international experience, is valued as a plus but not a prerequisite

You should expect occasional meetings outside normal working hours, due to global partners in different time-zones.
