About the team
As our new Senior Product Standardisation Specialist, you will be part of the Standardisation & Technical Advocacy Team, which is part of VELUX Standardisation & Technical Performance (STP) function consisting of 18 skilled colleagues.

Together we work with relevant standards, legislations, and requirement specifications to ensure the long-term technical and regulatory relevance of our product offerings as well as moving the industry in a fair and sustainable direction.

About the job
In this role, you will work towards safeguarding the company's interests while promoting long-term strategic goals and shaping industry best practices. You will do this in collaboration with your colleagues in the team, cross-functionally in VELUX and by engaging with external stakeholders and representing VELUX in key external forums such as meetings with European and international standardization bodies, regulatory authorities, and industry associations.

Your responsibilities and tasks will include to:

  • Lead VELUX engagement in standardisation activities under CEN TC 33 (Doors, Windows, Shutters, Building Hardware), CEN TC 128 (Individual and Continuous Rooflights), and CEN TC 129 (Glass in Building).
  • Contribute to the development, review, and revision of harmonized product standards that align with company interests and industry best practices.
  • Facilitate and support the implementation of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and the European Commission’s Standardization Request for Windows and Doors.
  • Identify and assess potential regulatory and technical barriers or opportunities to market access and ensure timely action.
  • Act as the company’s representative in relevant CEN technical committees and working groups, advocating for company interests and industry-wide improvements.
  • Identify emerging standardization trends and needs and ensure the company’s early involvement in shaping them.
  • Act as internal expert e.g. by collaborating with R&D, Product Management, and Quality teams to support the development of new and existing products in line with updated standards and VELUX aspirations.

The team is located in Hørsholm, but for the right candidate other locations in Europe can be considered. You can expect some travelling within Europe amounting to 20-30 days annually.

About you
We are looking for you who have a solid technical background as well as the interpersonal skills making you fit for being the face of VELUX in matters concerning standardisation both internally and externally.

You could come from a similar position in the building industry, from a building research centre, a technical or political institute working with building materials or construction products. It is important that you have deep insights into building physics and the ability to read, interpret, and apply technical standards, regulatory texts, and certification requirements.

You have great interpersonal and communication skills and you like networking and engaging with a large number of stakeholders. The role requires the ability to understand, interpret and communicate technical information in an appropriate manner based on the audience as well as great collaboration skills and the ability to argument, negotiate and reach compromises.

Furthermore, we expect that you:

  • Hold a degree within engineering, materials science, or a related technical field.
  • Have a good understanding of (or a genuine interest in) windows and doors standardization (or alike) within CEN technical committees (CEN TC 33, CEN TC 128, CEN TC 129).
  • Are familiar with (or interested in) the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and the European Commission’s Standardization Requests.
  • Speak, read, and write English at high professional level; knowledge of other European languages is a plus.
