Associate / Sr. Associate, Flagship Fund

We are currently looking for a proactive and experienced Associate or Sr. Associate to join the Flagship Fund Investment Team in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The team
Joining the Flagship Fund Investment Team in Copenhagen, you will contribute to the structuring and execution of investments in renewable energy infrastructure projects and companies across Europe to meet the growing demand for new electricity driven by digitalization as well as general electrification of transportation and heating.

You will work closely together with a highly experienced team in a constantly evolving and truly global environment.

The position
Based in Copenhagen (Denmark), you will be assigned to specific investment opportunities being pursued by the Flagship Fund as part of the Investment Team.

Key responsibilities:

• Due diligence – Lead due diligence efforts on renewable energy investments, encompassing financial, technical, legal, and environmental assessments. Collaborate with external advisors and experts to conduct in-depth analyses. Assess the potential risks and opportunities associated with each investment
• Financial Modeling and Valuation – Develop and maintain advanced financial models to assess the financial performance and potential returns of renewable energy investments. Perform valuation analyses and sensitivity testing to support investment decisions. Modelling and valuation courses will be offered to (Senior) Associates to ensure the required skillset
• Transaction Execution – Facilitate the structuring and negotiation of investment transactions. Work closely with legal and financial teams to draft and review transaction documents. Coordinate with deal counterparts to ensure efficient deal closure
• Market Research and Strategy – Stay updated on renewable energy industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments. Contribute to the development of investment strategies based on market insights
• Mentoring – Mentor the Team’s Analysts and secure the quality of their deliverables

The work is project driven and will involve all aspects of the infrastructure investment process including sourcing and acquisition, financing, and exits.

Key qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s or master's degree within Economics, Finance, Business, or other related fields
• 1-5 years of relevant work experience from an international organization
• Solid quantitative and analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and very high attention to detail
• Advanced valuation and financial modelling skills
• Knowledge of the renewable energy sector and its technologies
• Highly effective written and oral communication skills in English
