As part of Hempel’s Corporate & Business Development team, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to some of the company’s key projects, such as analysis and execution of M&A opportunities.

The Mergers & Acquisitions function is today solely operated by the Vice President of Corporate & Business Development. As a Student Assistant, you will support both the Vice President and interact with stakeholders across the entire Hempel organization.

This position is located at Hempel headquarters in Lyngby, Denmark, with working hours ranging from 15 to 20 hours per week, providing flexibility around exams.

What will your day-to-day look like?
The main working area will be to collaborate with the Vice President of Corporate & Business Development, supporting the identification, evaluating, and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Market analysis: In collaboration with commercial segments and FP&A conduct in-depth market research on current trends and segments of interest.
  • Pipeline management and target profiling: Support commercial segments in managing and developing their pipeline. Build target profiles for select companies and opportunities.
  • Due Diligence Support: Support the project management of the M&A end-to-end process and due diligence.
  • Business Case Development: Support financial business case development and presentations to support decision making on M&A opportunities.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Commercial and analytical approach
  • Strong English skills, verbally and written.
  • Experience working with MS Office package.
  • Strong organizational skills, proactive mentality, collaborative approach, as well as open and curious attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and dedicated.
