For our customer, the European Space Agency (ESA), we are seeking an experienced Oracle / APEX Developer to work at ESA’s ESTEC site in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.

Job description
You will be a key member of Terma’s Software Development and Support Service team integrated into the customer responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting bespoke business process applications for ESTEC’s Technical and Quality Management Directorate (D/TEC).

Responsibilities
Skilled and adaptable Oracle APEX Developer with a strong foundation in Oracle Database technologies. Proven track record of delivering secure, scalable web applications in enterprise environments. Experienced in combining APEX development with modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX) to create user-friendly solutions. Highly adaptable, with additional exposure to C#, .NET, and Python, making them versatile across diverse projects.

The key tasks to be performed are:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Oracle APEX.
• Write efficient, optimized SQL and PL/SQL queries and procedures to support business requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Build responsive user interfaces with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX.
• Ensure application performance, security, and scalability.
• Support system integrations and contribute to process improvements.
• Stay current with Oracle features and emerging web technologies.

This is a full-time position located at ESTEC, Noordwijk, The Netherlands. The foreseen start of work is September 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

How to succeed in this position?
The successful candidate shall have:

• Experience with Oracle APEX development.
• Strong proficiency in Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Solid web development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX.
• Exposure to RESTful web services and APIs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver in agile teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience with C#, .NET, or Python.

Desirable:

• Prior knowledge and experience with ESA and/or space industry would be an asset.

Soft skills:

• Service orientation and ability to liaise with (administrative/management) end-users, other IT teams, security officers etc.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
