What you will experience as a Service Engineer with ChemoMetec
ChemoMetec is seeking a dedicated, customer-focused Service Support Engineer based in Ghent, Antwerpen, Brussel or the nearby region. In this role, you will support leading biotech, pharma, and academic laboratories by ensuring the optimal performance of our state-of-the-art cell counting and analysis instruments.
You will be responsible for installations, qualifications, preventive maintenance, and ongoing customer support, acting as a trusted partner to scientists and researchers. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with advanced laboratory technology, build lasting customer relationships, and contribute directly to ChemoMetec’s growth journey.
The role primarily covers the Benelux and France regions, with occasional travel to other parts of the EU.

Your role & responsibilities
- Perform service checks and instrument installations at customer sites/institutions
- Give presentations and training to customers on our instruments
- Answer all questions that may occur while on site or communicating with customers
- Build customer relationships and recognize their needs
- Identify and execute on sales opportunities with customers
- Accurately record and maintain customer information in our CRM database
- Support the sales team with related tasks, as required
- Upkeep of all current instrument policies and looking to improve them in the future
- Discrete and confidential with all customer information
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a candidate with a B.Sc. in Life Sciences or a related field. Experience with GMP, cell culture, and techniques like flow cytometry or fluorescent microscopy is a plus.
You’re confident in customer interactions, ideally with 1+ year of customer-facing experience, and you communicate clearly—both in writing and presentations. You work independently, take initiative, and adapt quickly when challenges arise.
Key qualifications:
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Can use effective questioning to identify customers’ needs
- Self-motivated and uses initiative on tasks
- Willingness to travel across the EU (80 % of work time)
- French and/or Dutch language skills are a strong plus

Practical information
You will be based in Ghent, Antwerpen, Brussel or the nearby region, and travelling between our customers on a weekly basis (80 % of work time). When not traveling you will have the opportunity to work from home.
