Project Manager – Nanosatellite Exploration Missions

We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of satellite missions for exploration purposes. You’ll orchestrate a team of world-class engineers and partners, guiding a technically complex, high-visibility program that will help define the next era of small spacecraft in advanced technology and deep-space missions.

Your Role
You’ll join our Advanced Missions and Programs team — the group driving our most ambitious projects in space exploration. You’ll take ownership of planning, coordination, and delivery across all mission phases: design, integration, launch, and operations. Your leadership will be pivotal in turning innovation into precision execution.

Your tasks include:
• Leading and integrating all technical and managerial aspects of the mission from concept to operations.
• Coordinating multidisciplinary teams across systems engineering, AIV, software, ground operations, and product assurance.
• Acting as the primary interface with ESA, national space agencies, and industrial partners.
• Ensuring coherent project control: managing schedules, budgets, risks, and configuration across all teams.
• Upholding ESA/ECSS compliance, leading technical reviews, and ensuring documentation excellence.

Short- and Long-Term Success
In the initial phase, success means:
• Building a deep understanding of the mission scope, priorities, and technical context.
• Establishing strong collaboration with ESA and internal teams.
• Taking ownership of project planning and ensuring alignment across disciplines.

As the mission progresses, you’ll deliver results that meet scope, cost, and quality objectives — while strengthening our position as a partner of choice in advanced technology missions and deep-space programs. You’ll also help transform mission achievements into new opportunities and capabilities for future exploration.

What You Bring
You’re an experienced space project manager — technical enough to engage engineers in detail, strategic enough to see the bigger picture, and steady enough to lead through uncertainty.

You likely:
• Hold a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Bring 5+ years of experience managing nanosatellite or microsatellite projects.
• Have led ESA or national agency programs with multidisciplinary teams and international partners.
• Are confident balancing innovation and risk within demanding project frameworks.
• Communicate clearly and decisively at all organizational levels.
• Thrive on delivering complex missions that challenge the limits of what’s possible.
