AIV Engineer – Help Build Satellites That Launch Into Orbit
GomSpace A/S
Are you a hands-on engineer driven by precision, teamwork, and the thrill of space?
In our Satellite Assembly, Integration & Verification (AIV) Team, you’ll work at the very core of building and preparing satellites for flight. From assembling cutting-edge systems to performing mission-critical tests, you’ll ensure every spacecraft that leaves our facility is ready for the challenges of space.
You’ll help turn complex designs into spacecraft that make a real impact in orbit – from enabling communications to advancing Earth observation and science missions.
If you’re passionate about hardware, love solving complex technical challenges, and want to see your work leave Earth’s atmosphere – this is your launchpad.
Your Role
You’ll work at the heart of our satellite production – bringing space systems from concept to flight readiness. Together with a team of dedicated engineers and technicians, you’ll take responsibility for assembling, testing, and verifying our spacecraft to the highest standards.
Your tasks include:
- Assembling and integrating electronic and mechanical components for satellite platforms
- Performing functional and assisting in environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMC)
- Troubleshooting and resolving integration issues during build and test phases
- Maintaining thorough documentation of procedures, test results, and non-conformances
- Collaborating with engineering teams to continuously improve assembly and test workflows
Short- and Long-Term Success
In the initial phase, success means:
- You’re fully onboarded into our AIV processes and tools
- You independently handle subsystem integrations and functional testing
- You actively contribute to improving procedures and quality documentation
Longer term, you’ll take ownership of full satellite integration campaigns, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and support launch site operations – ensuring each mission leaves Earth flawlessly.
What You Bring
You’re a technically skilled and detail-oriented engineer who thrives in hands-on work. You understand the value of precision and teamwork in achieving mission success, and you know how to follow structured procedures while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
You likely:
- Hold an educational background as an electronics technician or similar technical discipline
- Have 5+ years of practical experience with hardware assembly, including PCB handling, cable harnessing, and subsystem integration
- Are confident working with electrical and mechanical interfaces in complex systems
- Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams
- Thrive on creating reliable, flight-ready systems that meet the highest standards of quality
Who You Are
You’re not just assembling hardware – you’re contributing to a mission. You take pride in your work and find purpose in precision.
You bring:
- Helpfulness – you support colleagues and contribute positively to the team dynamic
- Open communication – you’re transparent, proactive, and follow up consistently
- True ownership – you take responsibility and drive processes forward with integrity
- Structure & clarity – you keep order in complex tasks and documentation
- Curiosity & purpose – you’re motivated by seeing your work make an impact in orbit
You’re a team player with a hands-on mindset, eager to make space technology a reality.
