Test Architect / Test Automation Toolsmith

About the role
You will be the architect behind our test automation universe. Your mission is to design and maintain the tools, frameworks, and environments that let testers focus on testing instead of fighting setup scripts.

You will build what others depend on: seeding databases, spinning up environments, setting up pipelines, and creating reusable libraries and components wrapping UI elements that make everyone’s life easier.

This role calls for a strong engineering mindset and a passion for building at scale. You are the type who prefers fixing the root cause instead of writing yet another workaround.

What you will do

• Build and evolve our core test automation frameworks, libraries, and tools across Zenegy
• Set up efficient pipelines, environments, and test data management that just work
• Develop reusable components wrapping UI elements and page objects so tests stay stable, fast, and maintainable
• Design and maintain integration testing frameworks using tools such as REST Assured, Postman, or Pact for contract testing
• Introduce and optimize performance testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling to ensure scalability and reliability
• Empower testers to focus on great test design instead of configuration headaches
• Mentor, train, and inspire others to automate smarter and build more reliable tests
• Work closely with developers, DevOps, and testers to integrate automation deeply into CI/CD
• Continuously improve reliability, performance, and scalability of our automation platform

What you bring

• Solid experience designing and building test automation frameworks and infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with tools like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress
• Strong coding skills in C# or TypeScript
• A true engineering mindset: you think in systems, build for scale, and automate everything that can be automated
• Experience with integration testing and performance testing tools and strategies
• Familiarity with CI/CD integration, test data management, and mocking frameworks
• Passion for writing clean, reusable, and maintainable code
• You enjoy teaching others and find satisfaction in making their lives easier

Bonus points for

• Experience with cloud environments such as Azure or AWS
• Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of contract testing, security automation, or synthetic monitoring
• Experience in a test enablement or platform engineering role
