Matas Group is looking for a Digital Automation Engineer

We’re looking for a Digital Automation Engineer to establish a dedicated automation and AI capability within Digital Projects & Operations. Today, several teams run local initiatives—but we need a cohesive effort that unlocks full potential and creates real business value through scalable automation and intelligent dataflows. In close collaboration with our AI Center of excellence and colleagues within Group Digital doing citizen development and other departments.

In this role, you’ll bridge technology and business identifying opportunities, designing solutions, and using AI and automation to make our processes smarter, faster, and more reliable.

What you’ll do

• Establish a unified framework for automation and AI across Digital & E-commerce.
• Analyze and identify automation and AI opportunities across systems and teams
• Support and build automations that optimize workflows leveraging a toolbox of automation and AI services for e.g., content production, SEO, product data, image handling, geo targeting, or reporting.
• Explore and implement AI-driven solutions to improve data processing, decision support, and internal efficiency.
• Ensure reliable integrations and data flow between systems and platforms.
• Support business case creation through data collection and impact evaluation.
• Act as a central partner between tech teams and business units to ensure alignment and adoption.

Who you are

• Experienced with automation tools such n8n, Zapier, Make or similar low-code tools.
• Hands on experience in utilizing AI and automation to solve business workflows, services and other processes
• Developed and tested LLM-driven workflows using OpenAI, Google or others
• Comfortable exploring and using AI tools and APIs, including OpenAI.
• Strong technical skills in python is an advantage
• Understand how to structure and work with data processing
• Structured, analytical, and able to translate operational needs into technical solutions.
• Curious, proactive, and passionate about making processes smarter and more efficient.
• Bonus: experience with process automation in a cross-team/project environment.
