Research Engineer for Combustion Chamber Parts

Everllence

Combine FEM Simulation and Design Responsibility

Our mission at Everllence is to “Move big things to zero”. In Copenhagen, this means nothing less than decarbonizing the entire shipping industry and with it, most of the world’s trade. We are a global leader in the maritime industry, constantly developing new technologies to push for highest energy efficiency and to enable global shipping to run on carbon-neutral fuels derived from renewable energy sources, such as methanol and ammonia.

Combustion chamber parts designed here in Copenhagen power most of the worlds merchant fleet. The drive for decarbonization and more environmental friendly and fuel-economic engines pushes the combustion chamber to its’ limits. To enable this transition, we need to develop new technologies that allow the combustion chamber to continue to do its job silently and reliably, just like it has done for more than 100 years in our company’s history.

So, do you want to join Everllence R&D and help shape the next generation of combustion chamber components for the world’s largest engines?

You will play an important role in:
In this role, you’ll combine advanced FE simulations with real design responsibility. This is a unique opportunity to turn analysis into innovation and see your ideas become real components powering ships worldwide.

Tasks will include:

  • Performing thermal, structural and fatigue analysis of combustion chamber components
  • Developing and optimizing concepts and designs
  • Validating your simulation models against engine data from all over the world
  • Enhancing our highly automated FE simulation workflows further with your coding skills
  • Conducting failure Root Cause Analysis and Troubleshooting existing designs
  • Cooperating with a wide range of experts across R&D and Engineering
  • Aligning between R&D and internal as well external partners

We imagine that you:

  • Possess 3-5 years of relevant job experience
  • Have a proven track record in the Finite Element Method
  • Are hands-on proficient in FEM tools for structural and thermal simulations (e.g. ABAQUS).
  • Have experience in performing both linear and non-linear FEM strength analyses
  • Have worked with advanced thermo-mechanical boundary conditions before
  • Possess strong Scripting skills e.g. in Python to automate your workflow
  • Are a pro-active team player who can also work independently

Welcome to the Combustion Chamber Parts Department
In the R&D combustion chamber department we are truly passionate about what we do, which is not less that the development of the heart of the engine! Our daily work is the unique combination of R&D work in order to specify the future technologies for the combustion chamber parts and the development of state-of-the-art simulation methods and tools. Everybody in our international team enjoys a high degree of freedom and is rewarded with a lot of responsibility.
