The Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) project is a global collaboration of around 160 computing centres in more than 40 countries, providing the computing resources needed to store, distribute and analyse the ~200 Petabytes of data produced annually by the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

Functions:
As a WLCG Resource Coordinator, you will support the management of CERN’s IT budget contribution to WLCG, helping to fund computing resources and operational support.

You will work closely with the IT Department’s DPO Office, gaining exposure to a wide range of tasks related to budget planning, reporting, and analysis for the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) project. This role offers an excellent opportunity to learn and grow while working closely with IT Management and project teams.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with budget planning and maintenance of financial files and databases.
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports and analysis for internal reviews and audits.
  • Monitoring expenditures and validating orders, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Consolidating and analysing financial data to support decision-making.
  • Helping track project deliverables, milestones, and financial planning.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Finance, General Administrative or a related field.

Experience:

  • Experience and strong interest in resource planning, financial monitoring, and reporting.
  • Experience working in a dynamic research environment with scientific stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with CERN budget processes and financial tools is an advantage.

Technical competencies:

  • Use of accounting tools: aPT, CET.
  • Financial reporting and analysis: excel skills and ability to work with data.
  • Personnel and material resources planning.

  • Demonstrating Flexibility: adapting quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities and requirements.

Language skills:
Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.

Employment Conditions
Contract type: Limited duration contract (5 years). Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may apply for an indefinite position.
