Are you experienced in accounting and customs clearance, and looking for a stable role with growth opportunities? We are recruiting an Accountant Secretary to join our team in Abidjan on a fixed 6-month contract.
This position is key to supporting daily operations, handling customs and duty processes, and assisting the management.

What is in it for you
You will be part of a small, agile team in Abidjan where your work directly supports onsite operations and decision-making. In this position, you will gain significant insight into finance and operations, enhancing your understanding of customs clearance, duty handling, vendor accounting, and budget management.
The tasks that await you
Your key responsibilities will include to:
- Assist the General Manager on the office day to day management.
- Handle day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping, such as invoice processing, reconciliations and financial records.
- Prepare and monitor cost reports, voyage P&L and assist with monthly and quarterly budgets.
- Support the management with administrative and secretarial tasks.
- Coordinate with local agents and suppliers for payments, documentation and customs paperwork.
Your core qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Hold 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role (accounting, secretary and office management).
- Has solid knowledge of customs and duty handling processes.
- Is proficient with ERP systems and Excel.
- Is fluent in English and French.
- Is based in Abidjan or is willing to relocate.
Moreover, we are looking for a candidate who shows curiosity, a willingness to acquire new skills and a keen eye for detail, with a basic grasp of commercial concepts.
An approachable nature and problem-solving skills are significant, as you will need to interact with a broad array of stakeholders.
The process
The recruitment process consists of two interviews, supplemented by a personality and cognitive assessment, which you will have to complete before the interview.
