Group Infrastructure & Operations Manager

Flügger A/S

Denmark's largest paint product business. They have the complete value chain from raw material, production, warehouse and logistics to retail. But for a period of 15 years they had under-invested heavily in IT. A failed ERP implementation had stolen all focus. With reference to the IT director and with responsibility for both operations and support, I got responsible for 15 employees in 3 countries. My job here was to stabilize and secure IT operations, as well as lift IT to an enterprise level. This was done by: Implementing a hyper converged infrastructure server setup on all factories for production environment. Outsourcing of all other server operations (300) to a managed service provider, Outsourcing of service desk, Transition to Microsoft Office 365, Networks as a service, Print as a service. Review and renegotiation of all IT contracts. Implementation of new ITIL service management system (ServiceNow) and preparation to GDPR.
