I manage all aspects of the frugal start-up, which I founded and launched as a spin-off from Inmold. I raised funding in two rounds. I led and participated in development and launch of the first physical product. I developed and optimized a production chain, with digital and mechanical design, through chemical processing, coating and nano-structuring, with suitable quality control and process stability checks. I built a website and marketing campaign, attracting 50+ potential costumers. The product was sold as trial projects to 5 companies in 3 countries, based on my sales work. 10+ leads are still actively engaged.

Managed self-relying researchers on publicly funded projects, to build technology platform. Launched novel mould coating business (turnover +5MDKK/3 years, supporting +1000MDKK business for customers). Launch of 2 trademarked products (MoldGrfx, ShapeAid). Project application and management. Trial projects for novel thermoplastic roll-to-roll nano- and microstructuring sold to 3 customers (US, DK, ISR).

Managed self-relying researchers on publicly funded projects. Project application and management. Project leader for 3 funded research projects, and internal R&D. Surface and nanostructure technologies, for plastic injection moulding and extrusion coating. Characterization methods. Business dev. of platform towards nano-applications.

Personal grant from BMBF (Germany). Advised 4 PostDocs, 3 Ph.D’s and 5 M.Sc’s. Established lab with multiple custom characterization equipment. Basic and applied R&D on nanomaterials for actuation. Recognized as leader in field. I was warmly regarded by the people I supervised due to my personally engaging and always available presence, and a method of positive and curious challenge.

Discovered novel actuation paradigm “minimum energy structures (DEMES).” Built and programmed new measurement and characterization systems.

Taught Physical Chemistry and Classical Mechanics. Established research lab for “artificial muscles” supporting 20+ B.Sc. and 1 M.Sc. thesis projects. My students enjoyed my engaging style, and I was voted “Best Dressed” in a student poll.

Programmed the procedural calibration software for comparison transfer resis¬tors against Josephson standard. R&D on micro-wave turn-stile junction for DC current standard. Contribution to water conductivity standard.
