My education
2018 - 2022

ph.d. (alm.)

Danmarks Tekniske Universitet - DTU

PhD in Chemistry at DTU Chemistry.

In addition to research in Denmark, I was a Visiting Scholar (7 months), Harvard University, Ted Betley Group, Massachusetts, USA, November 2021 – May 2022.
Research efforts

• Hexairon Cluster Catalysts: Advanced research on the group’s hexairon clusters for C–C bond formation, modifying bridging ligands, and isolating key intermediates to explore iron-based catalysis.
• Triruthenium Cluster: Developed, synthesized, and isolated a material with properties consistent with a [Ru3]-cluster, revealing promising physical and chemical properties for future studies. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction remains pending for definitive structural confirmation

Research and mentorship efforts
• Advanced pincer ligands to transition from precious metals to earth-abundant metals, such as iron and nickel, focusing on catalytic systems that release or bind H2 gas under mild conditions in liquid organic carriers such as formic acid.

Contribution to departmental teaching efforts
• Taught laboratory exercises in Descriptive and Qualitative Inorganic Chemistry for undergraduate students, received a teaching evaluation rating of 4.9/5, reflecting high student satisfaction (2023)

• Contributed to the graduate-level class “Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry” in 2024 and 2025:
• In 2024: Delivered four-hour lecture with integrated problem-solving on sustainable catalysis, receiving 4.0/5 teaching rating.
• Co-developed lab exercises and served as co-examiner, providing feedback and assessments for graduate-level coursework.

• In 2025: Co-developed practical exercises focusing on Ni-based homogeneous cross-coupling. The exercise has students apply theoretical knowledge to design experiments to replace conventional Pd-based systems with more sustainable reagents such as Ni-based (pre)catalysts as well as chloroarene electrophiles, and trains students to monitor reactions using 19F NMR spectroscopy.
