Service Architect for Backup and Storage

We are looking for an Architect in the field of Storage and Backup to join our Global service Team consisting of colleagues from Czech, Denmark and Philipines. This position reports to Global lead and will be in a very close cooperation between the existing infrastructure architects.
The Backup and Storage Architect will play a pivotal role within the Backup and Storage Infrastructure Service, tasked with supporting and developing a robust ecosystem of large-scale enterprise backup, SAN, and storage infrastructure. The expected split of the responsibilities within individual areas are 70% Backup and 30% Storage.
This role is essential in shaping the backbone of Aeven’s core data center infrastructure. Collaborating closely with specialists and stakeholders in the Backup and Storage Group, as well as other departments across Aeven, the Architect will help them to achieve common objectives. Emphasizing innovation and teamwork, the Architect will be integral in deploying and managing Backup and Storage infrastructure and services across global data centers.
Your responsibilities
- Participate in projects within Backup and Storage architecture
- Define multi-year roadmaps
- Develop strategies for backup and storage services based on current and future customer needs and upcoming technologies
- Manage and optimize Aeven’s central and customized backup architecture and infrastructure at local data centers to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance for critical business operations, including configuration, monitoring, capacity planning, reporting, and troubleshooting
- Lead the planning, implementation, and execution of upgrades and patching for backup and storage infrastructure, ensuring zero downtime, compatibility with existing systems, and adherence to security best practices while respecting regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with interests and stakeholders across service lines and pre-sales
- Collaborate with Backup and Storage Group team and cross-functional teams to manage separate infrastructure components while focusing on file and object storage systems, ensuring seamless integration, efficient resource utilization, and effective communication to support overall organizational objectives
- Work with external technical personnel to implement hardware/software upgrades and remedies remotely and onsite
- Develop and execute scripts or REST API functions to automate bulk tasks of reporting on backup and storage technologies into other IT platforms
- Assist teams to develop and execute test and implementation plans for validating changes to new platforms, features, or firmware changes
- Ensure compliance with assets, changes, incidents, and problem management processes and policies
Your qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backup and technologies - preferred CommVault, IBM PowerProtect
- SME level thorough understanding of backup design principals, requirements, specification, and testing methodologies
- Proficiency in deploying and managing onsite backup hardware infrastructure components, including backup servers and networking equipment
- Experience in network technologies and protocols and understanding of network principals in a large-scale backup, file and object storage infrastructure
- Experience with communicating and sharing excellent support to interests and stakeholders at all levels of an organization
- Proven ability to diagnose and remediate complex server/client connectivity issues
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience
- Understanding of ITIL framework
