MCC Engineer - About the role:
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Maintenance Control (MCC) Engineer to join our CAMO (Maintenance Operation Control) team at SAS. This role will provide essential technical support to maintenance organizations outside of SAS's main maintenance bases and assist flight crews with operational technical matters. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical advice to licensed aircraft engineers and flight crews regarding operational technical issues.
- Act as the single point of contact and responsible coordinator for Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery outside of SAS’s P-145 staffed bases.
- Collaborate with MOC functions and P-145 organizations to plan and execute aircraft AOG recovery efforts.
- Handle deferred defects reported from outstations within the SAS network.
- Monitor aircraft systems and take necessary actions to maintain safe and reliable operations.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory documents and regulatory requirements.
- Foster effective communication and coordination between departments within and outside SAS CAMO.
- Contribute to the development and optimization of procedures related to the MCC function and the MOC department.
- Manage various operational tasks to ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the SAS fleet.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Aircraft Technician or Engineering degree (EASA Part-66 or equivalent), with type rating on SAS’s operating aircraft types.
- Strong understanding of EASA Part 145 and Part M civil aviation regulations.
- Proficiency in general computer skills and experience with Maintenance Management Information Systems (AMOS is preferred).
- Familiarity with aircraft maintenance planning, processes, and technical operation procedures.
- Proven experience in complex organizations and the ability to work effectively across different functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of a Scandinavian language is a plus.
- Ability to make quick, informed decisions in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and time management skills.
- Motivated by results and able to solve challenging situations with a clear and straightforward communication style.
- Team-oriented with a strong ability to motivate others.
