How would it sound if there was a job opportunity to help secure the Control Center Operations that manage the constellation of Galileo satellites on behalf of the European Commission?

For our customer in the Space industry located in the Munich area, we are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer with wide technical knowledge on the IT infrastructure with focus on security.

The position will include tasks such as:

• Review and analysis of day-to-day information security procedures and applications (access protection, encryption, configuration control, vulnerability analysis, malware detection, database activities), with prior analysis of project requirements in the cyber security area.
• Detection and classification of system anomalies in the local security environment, creation of a solution concept
• Identification of potential threats to the information and communication systems, preparation of a response plan, review of implementation and development of a signature-ready and efficient operational solution, followed by escalation in case of breaches.
• Processing of the security risk register through the ongoing identification of new cyber security risks and threats
• Preparation of training materials and regular training of project staff in the context of IT security
• Regular reporting and fast escalation to the Cyber Security Manager System Evolution as well as Security Manager in case of a concrete threat situation in the Galileo IT Security area, e.g. critical vulnerabilities
• Regular review and documentation of the system against the security requirements defined by the customer; in the event of deviations, creation of appropriate corrective concepts and implementation
• Definition of cyber security processes and workflows in the engineering area
• Definition of new projects and technical solutions in the cyber security area
• Further development of the tools used in analysis and reporting Creation of new projects and technical solutions in the cyber security area

Required Skills:

• Completed bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security or equivalent
• 3 years of professional experience in the field of IT or in the security industry
• Knowledge of cyber security-related topics (security concepts, encryption, vulnerability analysis, etc.)
• Knowledge in scripting with Python
• Experience in Django
• Experience with DefectDojo (DevSecOps platform)
• Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotational basis (3-4 times per calendar quarter)
• Willingness to undergo security audits
• Confidentiality and reliability
• Initiative and curiosity

This is a full-time position, located at the customer site in the Greater Munich area, Germany.

Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory, as English is the working language.

The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills together with the ability to effectively cooperate within the team.
