With a strong focus on innovation, we are seeking a Scientist to join our Cannabis Science Center part of Innovation & Technology.

As our new formulation Scientist, you will specialize in the delivery of cannabinoids, you will play a vital role in our organization, being part of our early-phase development. You have a scientific and innovative mindset and understand how to translate knowledge into new technological achievement in relation to delivery. We are seeking a visionary, innovative, and explorative formulation scientist with hands-on development experience within the field of highly lipophilic drugs who possesses a passionate dedication to improving delivery. Your background within science and innovation allows you to easily tap into external networks and collaborations with universities and CROs.

Job description:
• You will be executing our strategy within technological & pharmaceutical development. To do so, you will have hands-on laboratory work and be evaluating and characterizing the performance of prioritized delivery technologies.
• You will be gathering knowledge by reading scientific articles, patents, studies, and seeking inspiration and ideas from other areas of application which you can translate into technological development.
• Your chemical background allows you to rationally design and structure formulation development in an explorative manner.
• Your knowledge and insights in combination with your understanding of cannabinoids will ensure that the latest ideas and technology are incorporated into products e.g., in relation to improve uptake.
• You can build laboratory capabilities.
• You can initiate/plan and execute applied scientific projects and structure/plan scientific meetings/symposiums.
• You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a network of knowledgeable people within the drug delivery area.
• You have a common understanding of working with powder formulation.

Your background:
• You have a minimum of three years of experience in pharmaceutical development and delivery of BSC class II and IV.
• You have experienced with designing formulations with the intention to improve delivery.
• You have experience and appreciate the evaluation & characterization techniques e.g., XRD, DLS, Zetapotential, in vitro assays and are confident translating outcome to in vivo delivery.
• You are confident in and experienced with designing in vivo pre-clinical studies and use generated data to inform technology/product development.
• You hold a proven track record supporting the experience with formulation work confirming your experience in the field of drug delivery.
• You appreciate the investigation and characterization of new active agents and strategies for their successful application in various fields of interest.
• You have hands-on experience working with solidification and powder formulation.
• You are a chemist, hold a master’s degree in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or have a similar academic background, and preferably you hold a Ph.D.
• You have experience in reading scientific articles, patents, studies, etc., subtracting the essence and disseminating insights to an interdisciplinary group.
• You have experience in establishing and maintaining professional networks.
• You have experience with project management of academic projects.

• You possess a scientific curiosity and an applied mindset, which allows you to extract essential information and bridge ideas and scientific theory and can translate information into product development.
• You thrive in an emerging field with indefinite tasks and can structure and define subprojects which allows you to reach the defined goals.
• Your empathy makes it easy to gather people and quickly build up a network and work interdisciplinary.
• You are comfortable in a professional and dynamic environment and have a strong will to succeed.
• You can communicate detailed scientific information clearly to an interdisciplinary team in writing and verbally in Danish/English
