We are looking for an experienced Senior Development Manager to join our team of industry experts at Copenhagen Offshore Partners.

As Senior Development Manager, you will coordinate early-stage development of our California offshore wind lease. The ideal candidate will have project leadership and management experience, public engagement capabilities, and be familiar with key stakeholders for offshore wind projects in California. Our California offshore wind lease is an early-stage project with a long development lead time. You will be responsible for advancing project development in a complex new market environment, collaborating with team members, and overall project management. Key areas of focus are project management (e.g. budget, schedule, executive communications) coordination of subject matter team member efforts (e.g. market development, permitting and stakeholder advancement and engagement, local supply chain and workforce efforts, and transmission and interconnection efforts). Expertise in one or more areas of project efforts are preferred. This position is based in San Francisco, California, with other California locations to be considered and reports to the Chief Development Officer.

You will support initiatives including:

  • Advance the development of the OCS-P 0562 Lease area. Initial areas of focus include ensuring alignment with various subject matter team members.
  • Define and manage the overall development budget, project scope, and schedule while ensuring all project risks are assessed, managed, and mitigated, as necessary.
  • Represent the project publicly in relevant forums.
  • Coordinate with global floating offshore wind team to ensure knowledge transfer and alignment where relevant.
  • Develope shareholder presentations, reports, and materials.
  • Monitor new market development for offshore wind on the US west coast.

To succeed in this role, you will have the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher within a relevant field from an accredited program.
  • Experience in the energy sector, preferably with renewable and California experience in a relevant role or equivalent.
  • Project development experience with large energy generation facilities, transmission infrastructure, renewables, offtake, offshore oil and gas, or offshore telecommunications. Subject expertise in key areas of development (e.g. transmission, offtake, permitting, etc.) preferred.
  • Strong project management skills as well as organizational, networking, and time management skills.
  • Experience in engagement with complex regulatory environments for large projects and/or new technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and communicate complex matters in a clear and concise manner.

California Salary: $150,000 to $185,000
