About the department:
Agilent Procurement in Denmark is responsible for the strategic sourcing of all raw materials and reagents for the local production site as well as for the entire medical device instrument platform. You will be part of a global team of 6 category managers and 2 procurement engineers. We engage in the selection and optimization of suppliers, contract negotiation, regulatory approval of suppliers and introduction of solving all type of procurement related matters of operating a large number of instrument suppliers. We work closely with the Corporate Agilent Procurement function located in the US and Asia and have many stakeholders throughout the global Agilent organization. The function is part of a global category management organization.

The position:
As Category Manager for Medical Device Instruments, your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain the current Medical Device instrument platforms. You will work closely with key stakeholders within R&D, Marketing, Global Service, Regulatory Affair and Quality Assurance as well as working with leading global suppliers in the medical device industry.

Our suppliers and stakeholders are located globally. The travel activity in this position is expected to be 15-20 days per year primarily within Europe.

The position reports to the Director of Strategic Procurement Medical Device based at the site in Glostrup.

What you’ll be doing:
You will manage your own category of medical device instruments and the related accessories, spare parts and consumables. This includes creation of annual sourcing strategy and savings plans.

  • Drive various type of projects related to the top instrument suppliers. This could be obsolescence projects, upgrade or design related projects.
  • You will be part of a global category team of 10 members with whom you will work closely together on global projects
  • Ensure supply assurance of the instruments and ensure proactive action to prevent any shortage
  • You will be responsible for the supplier relationship management within your category and in this context select optimize the current supply base.
  • Drive supplier quality compliance tasks related to the suppliers and the category
  • Support and execute corporate global cost savings projects
  • Drafting and negotiating supply contracts for new suppliers as well as update of existing agreements
  • Building relationships with key suppliers & with internal stakeholders
  • Make sure all supply complies with the relevant regulations (FDA/ISOI13485/MDSAP/IVDR) solutions

Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a colleague who wants be part of our procurement team and actively contribute to our goals with experience, the right attitude, and willingness to learn and go the extra mile.

  • A sourcing professional preferably with experience from the medical device space. However, your background could also be from a product manager role and/or technical background within the medical device industry as a large portion of our tasks are technical orientated.
  • High degree of business acumen – you are able to maneuver in a complex and dynamic work environment and you can drive decision making with clear communications and fact-based analysis.
  • True team member and spirit – we work as a collaborative team not only in our office but as well with our global colleagues.
  • You are used to work in a regulated environment FDA/EMEA or similar and you are aware of the administrative requirements related to regulatory compliance.
  • Constructive and inclusive approach – collaborates and aligns stakeholders across functions,
  • Committed and take ownership of challenges and drives progress towards clear targets.
  • Min. 3 years of experience within sourcing of instruments or similar, preferably medical device
  • You have analytical capabilities with an academic background (Bachelor/Master in business Economics/procurement/supply chain or similar.
  • Strong commercial skills and competencies.
  • Experience with Category Management and SRM concepts.
  • You are capable of working cross-functionally with people at all levels of the organization.
  • You have good cross-cultural understanding and you flourish in an international setting.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English.
  • You are robust and you have a sense of urgency combined with a good sense of humor.
  • Moreover, it is a prerequisite that you are self-motivated and have a high drive and level of engagement.
