If you are motivated by optimizing internal flows and automating processes, then maybe you are the next one to join our international supply chain department and impact how we increase work efficiency across the entire organization.

We are looking for a colleague to join our product configurator team.

The configurator team works to automate creation of part numbers and product technical specification in our ERP system for new electric motors. And, by studying mechanical properties and matching individual components, create logic that brings efficiency in creation of bill of materials and routing operations for the assembly workshops.

By this automation we are able to save hundreds of hours of manual work each month. But we are still early in the implementation. By joining the team, your role will be to help bring the configurator functionality to cover a full portfolio of products in Hoyer.

This is a position with a high impact for the whole organization as you will contribute to increasing work efficiency in many departments internally and ultimately a faster service to our customers.

Cooperation with suppliers and design of system functionalities
Your daily tasks will have great variety and the possibility to have great impact on your daily work is ever present. You will, among other things, work with the following:

• Work closely with factories, suppliers and the engineering team, to obtain and study technical specification of electric motors and components.
• Structure the information in the database and use it to create and maintain the necessary setups in the ERP system.
• Using the obtained knowledge, build network of constraints to guide the system users to select only the feasible product specification.
• Map internal and 3rd party machining and reworking capabilities related to different product groups and update the ERP system whenever the capabilities change.
• Perform troubleshooting and support organization in usage of product configurator in the ERP system.
• Maintain master data behind the configurator to ensure its proper functionality.
• Manually create new components in the ERP system, that are not covered by the automation.

Your role contains a mix of tasks. There will be conceptual work and “design” of the system functionality and product scope, as well as daily manual updates of the ERP system and product creation. These manual tasks reflect directly in performance of our operations and structure of the product configurator, therefore we look for a candidate who will enjoy this diversity and handle the tasks with diligence and dedication.

There is some flexibility in the tasks, depending on the your level of experience.

Technical background or experience in engineering, manufacturing or product assembly
To succeed in this role, you must be thorough, curious, detailed oriented and at the same time be capable to understand complex issues. While a formal engineering degree and hands-on experience with motors is not mandatory, you must be able to quickly learn and understand technical complexities related to electric motors and communicate effectively with motor manufacturers and work cross functionally with engineers. We are looking for a new colleague with the following qualities:

• Ability to read technical documents and drawings
• Ability to translate engineering specifications into understandable English
• Medium level Excel user
• Previous experience or education as mechanic / engineer, or with a shorter education/AP degree within the technical/automotive area
• ERP system experience or experience with creating BOM is an advantage
• Careful, detail oriented, critical thinker
• Systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
• Previous experience with product configuration or CPQ systems is an advantage

• You speak and write fluent English.
