Sourcing Engineer (Electrical or Mechanical)

Do you have experience being the link between the supplier and in house production? Do you consider yourself to be structured, holistic, and a problem solver? Does project management come naturally to you? Then you might be the Sourcing Engineer we are looking for.

Your key responsibilities
In the position as Sourcing Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring a match between GHS component specification and our supply base capability. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive and facilitate both design and supplier reviews. You will be instrumental in ensuring design for manufacturing and design to cost and interact extensively with our assembly team to understand the manufacturability of the product.

Your main tasks and deliveries will include:

  • Conduct data analysis.
  • Lead change order implementation together with the strategic purchasers.
  • Identify new suppliers according to capability, capacity, and cost efficiency in collaboration with quality.
  • Support supplier qualifications in close collaboration with Supplier Quality.
  • Secure capability assessment at supplier’s premises.
  • Execute ECM changes towards the supply base.
  • Identification of cost out initiatives and participation in related projects.
  • Secure knowledge transfer into New Product Development.

Who are you?
We are looking for a Sourcing Engineer with an engineering educational background within the mechanical or electrical field. Your experience is characterized by working with either mechanical or electrical components and the relevant specifications and standards. You know the supplier QA program (PPAP) and can identify the level of quality.

You have experience being the link between the supplier and in house production, while working cross functionally with various departments. Your understanding of robust design reviews and strong planning tools is key to succeeding in this position.

On a personal level, you have a holistic and analytical approach, where you consider the entire value chain in your decision making. You work in a structured manner, ensuring pace and progress according to plans. Your mind set embraces change, and you consider yourself a problem solver. You thrive in a dynamic environment and can lead projects and reviews. Collaboration is a key priority to you, and you communicate technical information clearly at all levels.

You will be employed at our Kolding location and offered a salary that is according to the nature of the position, requirements, and background. Pension, health insurance and bonus schemes are part of the total salary package. You will need to expect 30-50 days of travel days to our stakeholders and sites.
