Upright Music is looking for a well-structured, detail-oriented, and proactive Finance Manager to join our growing Copenhagen team. Upright Music is a leading independent music company specializing in providing music for all kinds of audiovisual productions and films produced within the Nordics, the Baltics, and Poland. We are based in the heart of Copenhagen and have an office in Warsaw, Poland as well.

What we are looking for
We are looking for a well-structured, detail-oriented, and proactive person to join our Finance Team. As our Finance Manager, we expect you to have broad experience in accounting, auditing, and working with complex data structures. In this role, you will support and manage our Finance department with our Head of Finance, Anders Bluhme Nissen, and our external partners. Ultimately, you should be able to ensure Upright’s financial activities run smoothly daily and in the long term and develop and automate some of our processes in the best possible way.

The job requires you to lead, coordinate, and be hands-on in all day-to-day finance and royalty-related tasks with the finance team. We expect you excel in Excel, have a strong and structured finance toolbox, and know debet/credit by heart. Furthermore, we expect that you are experienced in working with finance data and salary-, payments-, and debtors processes. Experience from a similar Finance Manager position is not mandatory, and a current position as Business Controller, Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar also qualifies for this role.

Primary tasks
To lead, supervise, and be hands-on with numerous tasks within the finance and royalty department:

• Supervise bookkeeping and invoicing with external partners
• Handling salary-, payments-, debtors processes, etc.
• Quarterly settlements of VAT in Denmark
• Monthly follow-up on budgets and ongoing forecasts
• Quarterly reporting to the management team
• Annual budget process
• Preparing and executing the yearly auditing
• Royalty processes
• Handling big and complex data structures
• Creating meaningful and valuable analysis across the business
• Financial processes in our Polish company
• And many more…

Ensure a high-quality and valid finance function with the Head of Finance. Developing and automating different processes across the finance department and taking them to the next level.

What you bring

• A background as Business Controller, Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar
• Relevant education such as HDR or Cand. Merc. Aud.
• Structured, systematic, detail-oriented and proactive mindset
• You have in-depth knowledge of the Danish Finance and Tax Systems
• Broad experience within accounting and auditing
• Knowing your debet/credit by heart
• Excel in Excel
• Fluent in Danish and English (verbal and in writing)
• Additional experience within Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools is of advantage but not essential
