About The Job

You will be joining our strong project management and engineering team (Engineering & Supply) in Søborg, where passion for engineering the right solutions and bringing value to the customers is key. The team deliver projects on time, cost & spec to achieve satisfied stakeholders and there is a constant focus on developing the department.

Responsibilities:
Your main responsibilities as a Bid Manager will be to prepare cost calculations, clarifications, and deviations to tenders, ensure timely and correct responses to customer enquiries, and participate in technical negotiations together with Sales Managers in our global sales organization.

The role will require a high degree of a development mindset and an ability to develop tools, models and processes from scratch. Together with the rest of the team you will drive the development of defining the bid engineer role and be a part of the transformation journey within the team and greater organization. You will take part in developing new conceptual approaches to optimizing the bid engineering function to support the growth in the business unit, and you will promote new ways of working across departments as you will be the bridging person between sales and project management.

The job includes:

• Handling and coordination of cost calculation for modules, systems and plants based on Alfa Laval standard concepts and customer requests.
• Prepare quotation documentation and evaluate quotation texts.
• Make the engineering risk assessment (PSP -Project Sales Plan), understand and coordinate potential risks happening on the execution phase, ensuring that contract reviews are performed according to internal processes ensuring an optimized while balanced risk managed contractual outcome.
• Check and approve the detailed cost calculation.
• Serve Customer Needs: Ensure bid requirements are understood and that the Alfa Laval proposal complies with requirements while maximizing value to the customer and Alfa Laval. Understand customer drivers to make the right proposals.
• Optimize projects: Working with sales and other technical functions; optimize performance & cost variables to maximize Alfa Laval' contribution margins and customer's project value.
• Secure close cooperation and coordination with Sales in the selection of technical solutions and cost levels.
• Ensure competitive costing in close cooperation with Procurement.
• Improve and optimize standard solutions to enhance our competitiveness.

Qualifications:

• Engineering background (Mechanical/Process) combined with commercial insight or commercial background with strong interest in understanding of technical aspects.
• 5+ years' experience in a global technical sales support, project management and cost calculations.
• Fluent in English both spoken and written is essential.
• Experience in quality assurance
• Working in Food and Water industry is a requirement or a big plus.
