You will be part of the Global Commercial Operations team for Pricing, Tender and Market Access as well as having a reporting line to the Head of Germany and Switzerland. The role is critical for Bavarian Nordic and you are expected to lead and provide guidance to colleagues across the organization on effective market access strategies for vaccines.

As a Market Access Lead you develop national and product level access plans, identify growth opportunities and negotiate national contracts. The role is a split role, where you will lead the German market access strategies and execution as well as coordinate the global market access activities in rest of world with global colleagues as well as external agencies. Your main focus will remain Germany and ensuring access and reimbursement for our portfolio as well as future launches.

You have the experience, educational background, skills and gravitas to meet with German insurance companies, scientific advisory boards and national German key opinion leaders at the highest level. Your knowledge from years of experience will help us stay abreast of evolving market trends, healthcare policies and pricing/reimbursement landscapes to inform and adjust market access strategies accordingly.

• Development of algorithms, value propositions and evidence needed for the implementation of the market access strategy
• Identification the decision-making process for all possible reimbursement segments, indicating the main stakeholders and their role in the decision-making process
• Effective communication of the value proposition to support voluntary reimbursement submissions and negotiations
• Collaboration with national and regional authorities, payers, healthcare professionals and health organizations, to demonstrate the value of our products and to address the barriers, driving market introduction
• Market analysis based on national and regional legislation and budget
• Analysis of legislation and its changes in the field of health care, the structure of financing of medical care and monitoring of changes in the external environment
• Support and advise on all aspects of pricing and pricing approval
• Organization and preparation of specific conferences, round tables for scientific experts and economic teams assessing reimbursement in Germany
• Interaction with international non-profit organizations (WHO, UNICEF) for the purpose of joint projects
• Training of the sales team on relevant updates and new developments

• Master’s degree in either the medical, pharmaceutical or economic field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical in the German healthcare industry
• Minimum 5 years of experience with market access in the German healthcare industry
• Proven track-record of ensuring access to medicine in Germany – vaccines preferred but not mandatory
• Appropriate network with and knowledge of key stakeholders and KOL’s in Germany’s vaccination community
• Government affairs experience with international companies
• Ability to build strategies as well as execute them flawlessly
• Able to thrive in a global matrix organization and keep projects visible, on target as well as well organized
• Strong communicator (f/m/d) with the ability to engage a multitude of stakeholders from different backgrounds
• Fluent in German and English
