Field Superintendent

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in Malaysia to play a pivotal role in coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth operations on site.

Your Role

• Work closely with project managers, clients, Technical Engineering Department (TED), and various internal/external stakeholders to ensure all port/site operations managed by Blue Water Shipping Singapore are compliant with safety regulations and adhering to Blue Water Shipping standards.
• Act as the primary point of contact, coordinating with port authorities, the project operations team, vessel crew, and stevedores to facilitate smooth and seamless cargo handling operations.
• Inspect vessel holds/decks, containers, port/vessel equipment, rigging gear, and sea fastening materials to verify maintenance and valid certifications.
• Supervise the lashing and securing of cargo in accordance with MOS and MWS requirements and obtain approval. Address any discrepancies with MWS in collaboration with the Technical Engineering Department (TED).
• Conduct toolbox meetings before the commencement of any loading/unloading operations.
• Provide guidance and support to cargo handling teams, including stevedores, crane operators, riggers, and labourers, to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Perform risk assessments and implement safety protocols to mitigate hazards associated with cargo handling activities.
• Immediately report any incidents, accidents, or non-compliance using the Mellora app and notify the HSSEQ (Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality) responsible personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of operation timing, including cargo handling activities, and prepare loading and discharging reports upon completion of each operation.

Your Background

• At least 2 years of site experience in international logistics or freight forwarding
• Prior experience as field super intendent, lifting supervisor, site operations or similar role is advantageous
• Hands-on and team player mentality
• Solid working knowledge of HS&E requirements is a plus
• Good English and computer skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Ability to deal with stress, all weather conditions and willing to work flexible hours as needed
• Open to ravel in Asia up to 50%
• This role is based in Malaysia
