How to contribute to our vision
In the role of Contractor Manager for the NE&ME region, your innovative leadership and strategic vision will be central to sculpting contractor management within the Region. This unique position calls for a dynamic approach to establishing and nurturing contractor relationships, aligning with our core values and operational needs. Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic Contractor Management: Define and implement a contractor strategy that fosters sustainability and excellence.
  • Vendor Partnership Development: Build strong, collaborative relationships with vendors across the region.
  • Liaison with Central Planning: Coordinate with the Central Planning team to determine contractor needs and competency levels.
  • Procurement Collaboration: Work closely with Procurement to outline contractor requirements and ensure compliance with our standards.
  • Contract Scope Definition: Collaborate with Procurement to define contract scopes that meet technical and operational needs.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure contractors meet all safety, training, and certification requirements.
  • Performance Management: Serve as an escalation point for external technician issues and oversee supplier performance through evaluations and KPI assessments.
  • Innovation and Efficiency: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings within contractor management.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Work with the Commercial Management team and Site Operations to monitor site performance against contractor resource budgets and provide feedback to the business.
  • Contractor Onboarding: Assist in bringing onboard vendors within required timeframes, ensuring they meet our standards.
  • Safety and EHS Compliance: Oversee contractor adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.

  • Stakeholder Management: You excel in influencing and collaborating across internal and external stakeholders, driving initiatives without direct authority. Experience in contractor management or a closely related field is highly regarded.
  • Strategic Thinking and Planning Abilities: Your ability to develop and implement contractor strategies that align with organizational goals is crucial. You're adept at planning, forecasting, and adapting to the dynamic needs of the business.
  • Strong Negotiation and Relationship Management: Building and maintaining robust relationships with vendors, contractors, and internal teams is second nature to you. Your negotiation skills ensure that contracts meet our operational needs and standards.
  • Exceptional Communication: You can articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely, making you effective in liaising with various stakeholders across the organization and beyond.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: You're skilled at analysing data to inform decisions, identify opportunities for improvement, and solve complex problems.
  • Commitment to Safety and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards is non-negotiable. You're knowledgeable about EHS regulations and committed to upholding our safety culture.
  • Operational Efficiency and Innovation: You have a keen eye for efficiency and a drive to innovate processes and practices within contractor management, contributing to cost savings and operational excellence.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Team Collaboration: Working in a diverse and multicultural environment energizes you. You're adept at collaborating across teams and cultures to achieve shared goals.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: The ability to manage changing priorities and adapt to new challenges is essential. You're willing to take on new tasks and responsibilities as they arise.
  • Technical Proficiency: While a technical background is beneficial, your willingness to engage with and understand the technical aspects of our operations is key. Proficiency in IT tools and systems is expected.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills advantageous due to the regional scope of the role.
