We are one of the fastest-growing podcast & audiobook platforms in Europe and we are now looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join our growing Tech team. Join us on the quest to shape the way people learn, discover, and unwind through audio experiences and thereby enrich lives through listening.
This is the role
It’s an exciting time in Podimo. We are looking to further strengthen and invest in our amazing global tech and product teams which is why we are now searching for experienced Backend Engineers to join our team.

You’ll become part of a dedicated, curious, and caring team of tech talent across our hubs in Vilnius and Copenhagen with the opportunity to work both from the office and home. The team is fully responsible for the whole process, from refining requirements to the architecture, releases, testing, development, and maintenance of solutions. We are divided into four user-centric squads; Membership, Discovery, Listening, Community, and Growth.

Your main responsibilities in this role:

• Write code and tests, build prototypes, resolve issues, and profile and analyze bottlenecks
• Design robust APIs to support mobile and desktop clients
• Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud
• Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and allow for regression testing

Experience we’re looking for:

• You have 3+ years of backend development experience using Java, Kotlin or Scala
• You have good experience using Spring Boot and experience in developing REST APIs
• You have experience in using MySQL or PostgreSQL
• You have experience in using RabbitMQ, PubSub, Kafka or similar messaging solutions
• You have some experience/are willing to work with cloud solutions
• You have some experience/are willing to work with Async programming
• You have good communication skills in English as this is our company language across our markets.

Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!

• Salary ranges from 4500-7000 EUR GROSS depending on experience, location, and seniority.
