Role Overview:
As Deputy Director of STRING, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of regional collaboration and sustainable development in Northern Europe. You will support the Managing Director in leading the strategic and day-to-day management of STRING, driving green growth initiatives, and fostering collaboration among member regions. We’re seeking a dynamic leader with experience in both public and private sectors, a deep understanding of the infrastructure and innovation ecosystem within the STRING megaregion along with a strong political acumen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Managing Director in leading strategic initiatives and managing the day-to-day operations of STRING.
- Drive budget planning and the financial management processes to support STRING's strategic objectives.
- Drive political advocacy efforts and initiate projects within the areas of sustainable transport infrastructure, green innovation, and green industry.
- Cultivate strong relationships with member regions, governmental bodies, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
- Deliver engaging presentations and represent STRING in various forums and events.
- Manage a fast-paced environment with multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Foster creativity and innovation within the organization to address complex challenges and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant field.
- 10-15 years of experience from both public and private sectors, with a focus on Public Affairs and/or Communication
- Excellent project management-, budgeting-, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one of the Nordic languages; additional languages are a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of the infrastructure, innovation, and industry ecosystem within the STRING megaregion.
- Excellent interpersonal and rhetoric skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequent travel requirements.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects with creativity and delivering exceptional results.
