To meet these goals, we are now looking for a new head of ESG integration to lead the team that drives the integration of ESG standards day-to-day business operations and manages the ESG reporting process.
About the role
In the role of Head of ESG you will lead a dedicated ESG team which is part of the wider People & Sustainability function focusing on developing a commercially relevant ESG strategy, coordinating key activities and facilitating the implementation of sustainability initiatives to support the strategy and sustainability targets. Specifically, you will design and operationalize our sustainability ‘blueprints’ in coordination with subject matter experts with the intent to integrate relevant sustainability frameworks such as CSRD and EU Taxonomy in business plans, actions and investments and you will drive the ongoing preparations for alignment reporting, as well as other sustainability reporting measures. You will lead the development of our integrated sustainability reporting in close collaboration with Group Finance.
This position can be based at our headquarters in Copenhagen, or at one of our Mining Technology hub locations in Madrid, Spain.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the ESG integration team to integrate internal and external ESG standards in our global business processes, standards, and plans.
- Manage a dedicated ESG data centre to continuously improve our ESG reporting process.
- Continuously develop the short and medium-term ESG strategy for FLSmidth.
- Be the key interface with the business leaders to ensure integration of ESG in business plans and reviews.
- Oversee the completion our double materiality assessment and develop a short- and medium term dedicated reporting framework and strategy.
- Manage the completion of the sustainability part of the integrated annual report in accordance with CSRD together with Group Finance.
- Integrate external requirements from key sustainability frameworks including CSRD/ESRS, EU taxonomy and ESG ratings in our sustainability ’blueprints’ and stay abreast of other developing requirements and incorporate as required.
- Monitor, analyse and drive subsequent improvement activities to enhance our key ESG Ratings.
- Manage the completion of data requests from ESG Rating agencies and support the completion of requests from customers and suppliers.
- Lead special sustainability projects including net-zero target setting, customer sustainability data standardization and emission calculations.
- Represent FLSmidth in relevant networks and stakeholder events.
- Be a member of the People & Sustainability Leadership team.
- Manage the team’s sustainability budget.
- Continuously improve team structures and help develop the team members.
What you bring
- You have min 7-10 years of experience in the field of ESG, preferably from an international auditing firm and/or from a large international, industrial, or capital goods company.
- Have successfully led small-to medium sized teams, demonstrating effective leadership and performance management.
- You have a good understanding of key sustainability frameworks such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy, TCFD and ideally basic knowledge of emission. / Greenhouse gas accounting.
- You have strong project management and stakeholder relations skills.
- Proficient English skills in both writing and speaking.
- Effective analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
