Game Performance Lead
SYBO is growing. We’re releasing new games, building on the massive success of Subway Surfers as the most downloaded game of all time and continuing to excite and surprise the most important people in the world: Our players!

We are looking for a Game Performance Lead to join the Subway Surfers team to lead the analytics team and to drive data driven insights and strategies. Reporting to the Game Director you will play a key role in transforming the game team to become truly data driven and shape the games success by leveraging data to optimize the player experience, enhance monetization strategies and inform product development decisions.

Responsibilities

• Leading the Subway Surfers Analytics team to proactively provide insights into the state of our business that provides for strong decision making to drive impact.
• Set a high quality standard for data collection, insights, reporting, dashboards and visualizations ensuring accuracy, consistency and effective communication to the team and wider organization
• Make sure we have robust processes, methods and tools to monitor, report and understand game performance and health.
• Implement AB test best practices for test methodology, strategy and reporting. Collaborate with Product Managers to conduct A/B tests to understand the impact of new features, optimizations and content updates.
• Leverage analytics to extract actionable insight, uncovering trends, patterns and opportunities for optimization and new features to increase engagement and monetization
• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams including game leadership, product, design and development to provide insights and recommendations for effective decision making.
• Leading the game analysts in the day to day, providing them with business context, making sure they are aligned with business needs and prioritizations
• Work with the Central Analytics team on strategic projects like segmentation. The Central Analytics team consists of analysts, data scientists and engineers providing the craft of analytics to our individual game teams.

Your start at SYBO

• In your first month, you’ll spend most of your time getting to know the Subway Surfers team, the game and familiarizing yourself with our analytics stack. You’ll be getting to know your team's rituals, tasks and culture to fully understand the team and build relationships. You’ll get to know the vision for the game and the roadmap ahead, as well as building relations with key stakeholders in the Subway Surfers team.
• Within three months, you will be up to speed with our analytics capabilities, workflows and dynamics within your team, and will start identifying areas of improvement. By this point you’ll be leading the day to day analytics work in the team.
• By your first twelve months, you’ll successfully lead the development and launch of key improvements to our analytics process, how we visualize and communicate data. You have made our A/B testing strategies and methods more mature and robust. You’ll significantly contribute to the game’s performance and health with actionable insights. Overall you've leveled up our analytics team, and have a strong and clear vision for the future on further improvements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Analytics or Data Science roles in the mobile games industry with focus on free-to-play games.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.
• Very strong communication and visualization skills for effective communication of data and insights
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau or Power BI and proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases to extract and manipulate data.
• Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of mobile gaming mechanics, player behavior and monetization strategies.
• Experience with the ability to coach, influence and inspire a team of analysts to excel in their craft.
