Join us as our new Devops Engineer

We are looking for a devops engineer to join us and help us build and maintain the data infrastructure used by our Research and Development (R&D).

We provide the core platform and infrastructure for data storage, analysis, and data science activities in Research and Development (R&D). We have the full operational responsibility for the setup, enabling an agile and flexible environment where the time from idea to solutions is cut to a bare minimum.
Our on-premise environment is built on Ubuntu, with Ceph for software-defined storage, Ansible for automation, Proxmox, libvirt/kvm, Docker/Kubernetes, and Nagios, Prometheus, Thanos, Minio, Grafana for monitoring and trending. The setup includes HPC clusters (Slurm and SGE) and a Hadoop deployment. The network is mostly managed using ansible controlled Cumulus Linux on Mellanox/Nvidia switches.

You will join a strong group of internal developers and engineers. We support core research processes and are responsible for many specialized IT systems. In your daily work you will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and continued development of our IT setup in close collaboration with our internal software development teams and users. You will work in a diverse team of highly skilled people with competences across IT and biology. Some travel can be expected.

The person we are looking for has an open mindset to systems and services and can comprehend complex problems, driving strong solutions for the benefit of R&D in Novonesis globally.

Welcome to Prototyping, Analytics & Data Management

R&D Data Management works to enhance business and scientific productivity by developing systems to provide seamless access to research data, state of the art data analysis and visualization tools - supporting research activities such as genome sequencing and protein engineering in Novozymes’ global R&D organization.

In this position you need to have:

• A degree in IT or equivalent experience
• Strong experience with troubleshooting and fixing Linux-based deployments, from the metal to end-user applications
• Good understanding of network infrastructure
• A desire to drive automation and continuous improvement through root cause analysis
• Scripting experience with Python and shell
• Fluency in spoken and written English
