about the job
As the new Software Engineer at GomSpace, you will play a pivotal role in developing new software and enhancing existing solutions for the company’s products. You will participate in dynamic internal collaborations in an agile environment, working in 2 weeks sprint cycles alongside multiple engineering teams to best determine objectives collaboratively. You will have an opportunity to work with a variety of satellite engineering disciplines, including cooperating with Attitude and Orbit Control Systems engineers, to create software for the GomSpace satellites.

Your primary tools will be C and C++, and you will work with a technology stack that also includes Python. Collaboration is key in this dynamic environment, where you will engage closely with customers as well as internal stakeholders. The GomSpace software team has a strong emphasis on testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality results.

Your key responsibilities will encompass:
• Creating Object Oriented Code in primarily C++ and Python
• Working with the full development cycle of processing, developing, and testing code for various systems for the GomSpace Cubesat
• Working with both existing software for older products in orbit and on-ground as well as new software developments
• Showcasing results to relevant internal stakeholders
• Working as part of an agile environment focused on close collaboration

It is important that your mindset is to finish tasks and projects fully and properly.

For qualifications, we expect education in fields such as: Control, Signal Processing, Computer Science, or Embedded Systems. You have a minimum of 3-4 years of proven experience with C, C++, and Python as well as experience with Object-oriented programming.

Experience with the following will be appreciated, but is not a requirement:
• Embedded Linux
• FPGA
• Signal Processing
• Agile work environment
• Pattern methodology
• Test-driven development
