In this position, you will work on ensuring compliance, quality, and optimization of materials and processes for organic coatings on both composite- and metal parts. Your daily tasks will vary and you will take part in setting the direction and objectives for your area of expertise. You will experience having a wide network both internally and externally. Your work as the technological guide for organic coating processes will carry significant responsibility and have a substantial impact on civil security and military safety.

Job description section:
You will be part of a dedicated small team (Materials and Processes / M&P) of highly skilled Specialists and Senior Specialists, currently numbering 7 (including you). The team is diverse in terms of gender, nationality, age, and educational background. While each team member has a designated area of responsibility, we support each other and strive to work with the mentality, that every task is also the responsibility of the team. Your role involves overseeing all organic coating processes, ensuring compliance and quality of materials such as epoxy- and polyurethane-based paints. You will also manage the requirements for consumable chemicals, like solvents for surface cleaning. The responsibility furthermore entails the overall responsibility for REACH surveillance and chemical substitution activities at our Grenå manufacturing site, in close collaboration with other process owners.

Daily activities include spending time on the production floor, where you will oversee and discuss production processes with our skilled production personnel, and conducting desk work e.g., interpreting specification requirements, updating procedures and instructions, writing reports, elaborating on test plans and results, studying new technology or handling data. While hands-on testing may occasionally be part of your role, it is typically conducted - in accordance with your directions - by our skilled production and laboratory teams.

You will act as close support for the owner of surface treatment processes, which include etching, anodizing and chemical conversion coating. The combination of surface treatment and organic coating ensures the overall compliance to all our corrosion-protection and finish specifications and requirements.

• Qualifying materials and processes
• Monitoring and improving process performance and flow

• Providing technical advise to internal stakeholders
• Representing Terma in technical discussions with customers, suppliers and external partners

How to succeed in this position?
As an ideal candidate for this position, you should have a strong technical foundation, ideally within process and/or chemical engineering. We are looking for a candidate who is highly solution-focused, analytical, and places great emphasis on ensuring production compliance with both customer demands and industry benchmarks. You should have the ability to navigate a complex organization with integrity. Additionally, you should be proficient in writing clear and concise technical instructions, as well as communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Your professional background and experience may include several of the following areas:

• Technical education within science or engineering, with emphasis on chemistry (e.g., MSc. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Engineering/Science)
• Experience within surface chemistry, coatings and paints.
• Proficiency in REACH compliance processes and regulations.
• Background in a manufacturing setting, with an understanding of operational environments.
• Experience in compliance and requirements management.
