Business Intelligence Specialist
As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our digitization projects, contributing to the evolution of our Finance Function. You will collaborate with diverse professionals across different geographies, fostering innovation and driving impactful change. This role will be responsible for maintaining the Business Intelligence needs for group accounting and finance systems, including ERP, forecasting, financial consolidation, and governance, risk, and compliance.

You will not only work on digitization projects of strategic importance but also contribute to making data-driven decisions across the organisation. As a BI Specialist, you will proactively seek to understand the needs of our users and design BI user experiences that enable and inspire everyone to put data at the centre of their decision making. In our team, you will be challenged to go beyond developing per specification and rather treat the front end of your contributions as a product.

This role will report to the Head of Finance Systems. The position will be located in Oslo, and it will require some travelling.

The BI Specialist is responsible for:

• Gathering business needs to create actionable insights and reports for Business & Financial Controllers and support financial analysis.
• Provide primary BI tool support for Controllers across Schibsted Media.
• Assist Controllers during data landscape changes.
• Drive process improvements in collaboration with Controlling.
• Act as liaison between the Controlling and Finance Systems team.
• Participate in forums and projects as BI subject matter expert.
• Discover and understand data needs within the team's domains.
• Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders for data modelling and requirements gathering.
• Design and build Tableau dashboards for the finance area, including taking product ownership of finance reports within our Tableau site.
• Ensure usability and access in all BI deliverables.
• Be the primary point of contact/interface for both finance and the technical BI teams within Schibsted Media.
• Play a key role in making finance data-driven and self-served.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong understanding of the Business & Financial Controller role and experience managing business stakeholders.
• Technical background, or a financial background with a strong interest in pursuing a more technical path.
• Ability to execute the entire flow of dashboard design from user interviews to implementation independently.
• Methodical and structured approach with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
• Independent yet collaborative mindset with strong communication skills.
• Experience in a frontend BI tool, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik, either as a developer or an advanced user in financial controlling.
• Familiarity with data warehousing principles and data modelling
• Nordic language skills are considered a plus but not required.
• A higher education at bachelor or master level, within accounting, business, computer science or equivalent. The right skills and experience can compensate for formal training.
