Responsible Engineer for Expansion Projects, Process Engineering

As our large-scale CAPEX projects continues to move on – we are looking for a new Downstream Process Engineer to follow the large-scale CAPEX projects into the next phase. You will join a talented team of approximately 20 highly skilled engineers.

The role and responsibilities
You will be equipment engineer in a major strategic CAPEX project. Process equipment is designed and is currently in construction at the vendors. The Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) are ongoing, and once installed on site, the next phase will see the equipment through mechanical completion and qualification to be ready for operation. The position will take part in reviewing Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) and qualification protocols from an Engineering perspective. Further, you will participate in the practical execution of the activities including troubleshooting of equipment.

Your responsibilities will be (and are not limited to):

  • Process Engineer in large-scale CAPEX projects
  • Provide input and/or drive risk assessments as required
  • Perform equipment walkdowns and participate in mechanical completion
  • Support SAT and Commissioning including reviewing documentation and supporting/troubleshooting as part of the performing team
  • Setting up schedules for calibration and maintenance for process equipment
  • Review validation protocols and support commissioning and validation testing
  • Troubleshoot during testing, validation, and commercial manufacturing activities
  • Participation in the engineering on-call program is required on rotational basis when equipment is taken into use

Requirements

  • Minimum a bachelor's degree within engineering or similar discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in the areas of GMP manufacturing, engineering, or facilities in a pharmaceutical environment (not required for Jr. Engineer)
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and being comfortable working independently
  • Agile: Flexible and able to navigate in shifting priorities
  • Great stakeholder management skills
  • Result-oriented
  • Self-driven
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written

About the department and the team
Process Engineering at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies in Hillerød, Denmark supports process equipment through all phases of the equipment lifecycle – from design, through commissioning and validation activities, in daily operations and changes required to support new process introductions and optimizations. Responsible Engineers are required to make independent decisions based on risk assessments for the design and testing of equipment. We value safety first and have high quality standards.

This role is part of Downstream Process Engineering, which is currently operated in two teams. One team primarily supports the daily operation in our existing facility and one team supports the strategic projects. Although divided in separate teams, we strive to act as one team by moving tasks between the teams. We strongly value collaboration and knowledge sharing.
