Join us in this role where you’ll drive the development and implementation of seamless and effective data management practices to professional the orchestration of data as products throughout our company value chain. Our Ørsted Data Ecosystem (ØDE) is a one-stop shop cloud-based data platform that facilitates the collection, processing, and consumption of data from all business units, making it available to analysts, data scientists, and to deliver outcomes from machine learning models.

You’ll be part of the Data Management team where you, together with your colleagues, will ensure transparency and overview of data available on ØDE to enable reuse and sharing of data across business units while adhering to legal and company regulations for sharing of data. The team consists of professionals who are passionate about data management, data engineering, data science, and integration technologies. We’re committed to delivering on our digital strategy and creating a strong platform for analytics, model management, machine learning, all built on cloud technologies. You’ll play an important role in:

  • writing production-grade, peer-reviewed Python and SQL code with automated tests
  • building, evolving, and maintaining the ingestion pipelines to the Ørsted Data Ecosystem
  • ensuring that data is made available in a way that is optimised for security, stability, and performance
  • liaising with data owners and stewards to ensure that the metadata description and retention requirements are captured and documented when data is onboarded
  • contributing to the roadmap of data catalogue development together with architects in ØDE and feedback received from end users
  • communicating changes of policies and procedures to ØDE developers and stakeholders and educating users on our governance and compliance during client and data on-boarding.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have experience as a data engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data pipelining
  • have substantial development and data ingestion experience using Python and SQL, and experience with processing frameworks like Spark/PySpark
  • are familiar with cloud platforms, containerization, and orchestration tools (we use AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker)
  • experience implementing data mesh principles and building decentralized data pipelines and services
  • understanding of data governance, data cataloguing, data quality, and data observability concepts is a plus (e.g., AWS Glue and Decube)
  • are curious and engaged with a passion for making a difference through data.
