The position
By joining our team in Technology, Digital & Innovation you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the Cross-commodity and Insights unit, setting a strategic direction that aligns with Equinor's vision for navigating the energy transition through efficient trading operations.
  • Oversee the integration and optimization of trading tools and analytics across Equinor's three existing units: Gas and Power Solutions, Liquids Solutions, and Future Markets and Renewables.
  • Manage the development of advanced pricing tools, risk management strategies, and regulatory reporting mechanisms to support informed and agile trading decisions.
  • Collaborate with the enterprise data platform unit to ensure a seamless data infrastructure that underpins robust trading activities.
  • Ensure the integrity and management of master data, facilitating accurate and reliable analytics across all commodities.
  • Drive the development of innovative pre-trade analytics to enhance trading performance and profitability.
  • Foster synergies across Gas and Power Solutions, Liquids Solutions, and Future Markets and Renewables to create a unified and efficient trading operation.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to maintain Equinor's competitive edge.

As Equinor embarks on its most significant challenge to successfully navigate the energy transition, the role of efficient trading operations becomes increasingly critical. The Cross-commodity and Insights unit within Marketing and Supply Solutions is pivotal in harnessing the power of trading to maximize margins in an era of tighter returns. We are seeking a strategic and innovative leader to drive the Cross-commodity and Insights unit, ensuring that Equinor capitalizes on every trading opportunity available in the evolving energy markets.

You

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related fields. Advanced degrees or certifications are highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in commodity trading, finance, or a closely related field, with a strong emphasis on digital innovation.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT management and experience leading digital projects that enhance trading operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of energy markets, trading platforms, and the regulatory landscape.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities, capable of synthesizing complex data into strategic insights.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of engaging diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to identify and implement synergistic opportunities across trading units.
