Data Architect

Ørsted

Join us in this role where you’ll get a hands-on responsibility by designing and implementing data-driven solutions using a data mesh architecture approach. Your expertise in data engineering and ability to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation will be crucial to the success of our projects. Our Ørsted Data Ecosystem (ØDE) is a one-stop shop cloud-based data platform that facilitates the collection, processing, and consumption of data from all business units, making it available to analysts, data scientists, and to deliver outcomes from machine learning models.

Welcome to Architecture and Technology
You’ll be part of our Architecture & Technology Competence team where you, together with your colleagues, will decide on data engineering architecture, technology, and component usage within the boundaries of company strategies, reference architectures, and principles. As a team, we solve unique challenges involved in building a sustainable green energy with diverse culture around the globe, while ensuring great cohesion and collaboration.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipeline and leading the development of the self-serve data platform incorporating data mesh approach
  • defining data product models, data flows, and integration patterns to enable decentralised data ownership and management
  • establishing data governance standards, policies, and processes to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the data mesh
  • collaborating with domain experts and data product owners to understand their data requirements and translate them into scalable, reusable data products
  • continuously evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and architectural patterns to improve the data mesh capabilities
  • documenting and communicating data mesh architecture, design decisions, and roadmap to stakeholders and providing technical guidance and mentorship to data engineering teams on data product best practices.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have proven track record of designing and implementing data mesh at scale, and some years of work experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar technical role with proven expertise in designing and implementing data mesh or other modern data architectures
  • have strong understanding of data modelling, data integration, and data governance concepts and have substantial development and data ingestion experience using Python and SQL
  • are familiar with cloud-based data platforms and services, e.g., AWS and/or Azure, and have hands-on experience with data engineering tools and technologies such as Kubernetes
  • have experience working with AWS services such as Glue, Data Pipeline, MSK, Lambda, EKS and EMR and RDS
  • have experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving technical initiatives
  • have excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
