Strategic Lead of Wellbeing, Health & Safety

TDC NET

Support us give our employees a healthy and safe working day
TDC NET has connected Danes for 140 years, and today we still connect people in the crossroad between telephony and the internet.

These years, we are undergoing major changes, and for us, our people are at the centre of the 2030 transformation we launched in 2023.

Therefore, we are now raising the bar for our employees’ physical safety, health and wellbeing (WHS). And for that work, we are seeking a new Strategic Lead who is enthusiastic about improving the WHS of all TDC NET colleagues.

You will be part of a new team "Experience & Engagement" which has our core value "care" as focal point.

About the job
For a number of years, our professionally skilled Health & Safety team has worked systematically to put physical safety on the agenda - both with management, employees and contractors. We are ISO 45001 certified, and both our top management and our owners see the area as an integral part of the business. You will be building on this work, so that we broaden the scope to include employee wellbeing and mental health – with a continuous substantial focus on physical safety.

Your key tasks
As the Strategic Lead of Wellbeing, Health and Safety, your primary responsibility is to oversee and drive all aspects of health and safety within TDC NET to ensure a safe work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. This role includes the following responsibilities:

1. Developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures to comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards – as well as meeting employees’ expectations to their employer as of today within the broader agenda of WHS.

2. Updating and owning the strategy for physical safety, wellbeing, and mental health where we regard our contractors’ employees as our own. This includes a year-wheel of efficient activities to promote the learning culture in the organisation.

3. Providing advice and guidance to management and employees on health and safety matters, while also ensuring that regular risk assessments and implementation of preventive measures are performed.

4. Drive the work for designing and evaluating WHS training programmes for management and employees in close collaboration with the business owners.

5. Responsible for the investigation of High-Potentials, accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify causes and prevent reoccurrence, conducted in close collaboration with your fellow WHS colleagues.

6. Reporting regularly to the Health & Safety Committee and senior management on WHS performance and initiatives.

Overall, you will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment, where we prevent accidents and injuries to protect the well-being of all colleagues at TDC NET.

As part of the Experience & Engagement team, you will get colleagues who are professionally strong in work environment and communication. Our tasks range widely and include - in addition to Health & Safety - Diversity, Equality & Inclusion, Social Responsibility, internal communication, Employee Resource Groups, etc.

What binds us together is the motivation to give our colleagues throughout TDC NET a good experience when they go to work - and give them the opportunity to engage and feel involved in their workplace. We want our colleagues across the organisation to feel just as safe, healthy and content when they go home in the afternoon, as when they came in the morning.

We make a virtue of sparring, giving feedback and developing each other. And then we have fun!

"You will be part of a new team with experienced colleagues, where we have plenty to do, but approach all tasks with a good mood. We care about our professionalism and enjoy developing and inspiring each other - whether it's over the desk or over a good cup of coffee," says Henrik Elberg, who will be your colleague in the team.

About you
We are looking for a new colleague who, based on a deep professional health and safety foundation, has an eye for how we create the best framework for employee safety and wellbeing, what they consist of, and how we engage both leaders and employees in this important agenda.

Physical safety is your home turf, you see the wellbeing of your colleagues from a holistic approach, and you have most likely worked with enhancing an organisation's focus before.

You possess comprehensive knowledge within the WHS regime of “Hierarchy of Controls,” Risk Assessment”, “Behavior-Based Safety”, “Safety Management Systems”, “Incident Investigation”, “Safety Culture”, and “Continuous Improvement”.

In addition, we are looking for you who:

  • Have a strategic and visionary approach to Health & Safety and know what employees today expect from their workplace – and are committed to influence, drive change and build a solid WHS culture with an equal focus on contractors’ safety
  • Have solid experience in Health & Safety and take zero tolerance for injuries literally – just as you have good experience working with psychological work environment, including stress and offensive behaviour
  • Know what systems and working practices are effective, and are capable to put them in place and very closely monitor, review, and constructively challenge our teams and contractors
  • Master the art of setting KPIs, analysing the numbers and preparing concepts, campaigns, training and more, to engage both leaders and employees
  • Are skilled at collaborating with all kinds of people - whether they visit customers as technicians, are members of the Board or are H&S specialists in the organisation
  • Have a multifaceted learning toolbox, and can engage, inspire and read the room when you hold workshops, give presentations and facilitate stakeholder meetings
  • Master both Danish and English in writing and speech

"We are looking for you who see an exciting opportunity in lifting our WHS focus to new heights. You must have a visionary eye for what our employees expect from their employer - and you must find it exciting to develop new collaborations and concepts in the area in close dialogue with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation," says Head of Experience & Engagement, Tenna Schoer, who will be your daily leader.
