In VELUX we want to create well-being for people and planet by transforming spaces using daylight and fresh air and we hope you want to join us. In this role you will support the entire VELUX Group being part of the newly established Data Platform Team.

What you will do
You will join a newly established team of skilled and engaged colleagues of different seniority with the shared goal of developing and maintaining robust data platforms aligned with the VELUX data strategy.

You will work closely with the more experienced Data Engineers and continuously learn from them. You will be working on a completely new Data Platform with the most modern technologies that is built around Snowflake and dbt Cloud. Your main focus will be to assist the team in building and maintaining the data infrastructure, data flow and loading processes critical for data-driven initiatives. You will be responsible for data engineering tasks contributing to the team’s overall goal.

Your tasks will include:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of data pipelines with e.g. data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
• Support data quality controls, data validation, testing, and monitoring to maintain data accuracy and reliability
• Participate in resolving technical issues and challenges within the data pipeline
• Collaborate with the team on data projects and help data scientists and analysts in delivering clean, well-structured data for analysis
• Participate in the exploration and integration of new data technologies and tools, contributing to the enhancement of data infrastructure in line with team priorities
• Contribute to maintaining documentation of data pipelines and processes

You will be part of a global organisation and an international team and will be based at Head Office in Hørsholm. We utilise our available technology to work virtually and flexible but you can expect some travelling.

Who you are
Most importantly, we are looking for you who have a great interest in data infrastructure development, some experience with data engineering – and a willingness to learn the rest.

You want to be part of a team where knowledge is shared and you value learning from your colleagues as well as taking accountability for your own tasks. You understand the importance of cooperation and collaboration.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

• Have a basic understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and database management
• Are familiar with cloud-based data platforms and services
• Have some knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL
• Are interested in data warehousing, big data technologies, and distributed computing frameworks
• Posses great problem-solving and analytical skills
• Are fluent in English (spoken and written) with solid communication skills
