Principal Promotion Manager

You will play an important role: As a promotion manager you will play a pivotal role in driving the ordering of our license built two-stroke engines and small-bore four stroke GenSets, with technical advisory and well founded arguments, towards customers who are looking into ordering newbuilds of large merchant marine vessels. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the full promotion cycle; from shipowners investigating newbuilding projects at an early phase, to the successful specification of our products in connection with the shipbuilding contracts.

Functioning as an expert, an advisor and a leader, you understand how to direct your communication to the different stakeholders. You have the ability to quickly comprehend our business at both, a technical and commercial level.

You will:

• Lead promotion activities in specific regions, conducting technical and market analysis presentations, all in close collaboration with the local front line offices in the regions with the ultimate goal of securing orders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. Engage proactively with both regional and global teams to promote the growth of our two-stroke business, ensuring top-tier customer support and satisfaction.
• Develop an understanding of the clients, their business, current projects and potential needs in the future
• You will meet regularly with clients and colleagues. Therefore, you will travel around 60 days per year, but often just for a few days at a time – occasionally 1 week at a time if you are travelling outside of Europe.

We imagine that you

• Have a background as marine engineer, mechanical engineer, naval architect or similar
• Have 5+ years of experience, preferably from working in a technical department within the maritime industry
• Have strong communication skills, promotes fruitful collaboration and are good at stakeholder management
• Are professional and know when to reach out to your fellow team members for advice
• Is result-orientated and a high performer with a focus of working effectively and professional
• Are passionate about our products, eager to learn more and share your knowledge
• Speak and write English fluently
• Is ready to be an active part of the social work environment with your colleagues

Additionally, it will be an advantage if you:

• Are acquainted with marine propulsion systems and MAN Energy Solutions two-stroke marine engines and GenSet solutions
• Have great PowerPoint skills
• Have experience with presentations in front of large audiences
• Have experience working in large organizations
