We add value by ensuring correct and timely financial reporting, a high data integrity and pro-active insight in the financial flows of our company as well as our deliveries towards stakeholders inside Nordea Pension and the Nordea Group. As an Senior Investment Controller, you’ll play a valuable role by holding a central position within the Investment Accounting function. You will facilitate the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of a new system and interface for processing investment accounting data. Your contributions will play a crucial role in supporting our transition to this new system, testing real-world case data, and maintaining meticulous records. Once in production, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the performance of the new systems, documenting processes, and facilitating a seamless transition to day-to-day operations. You will also support monthly closing procedures adhering to Solvency II requirements, Danish GAAP and IFRS regulations. Under the supervision of the Head of Accounting at Nordea Pension Denmark, you will hold a central position within the Investment Accounting function. What you’ll be doing:

• Extract, collect and manage investment accounting data sourced from various data warehouses.
• Cleanse, format, and import general ledger records from SimCorp Dimension into SAP financial systems.
• Monitor and manage liquidity by ensuring correct funds allocations to customer portfolios.
• Conduct rigorous validations of the gathered data and reconcile inventory assets into the financial systems.
• Maintain proper documentation of the closing procedure, ensuring compliance with the accounting regulations and internal policies.
• Support business teams in transitioning to a new accounting system by:
  • Contributing to review business requirements and define User Acceptance Tests.
  • Running User Acceptance testing and regression test phases in line with the suggested timeline.
  • Detecting underlying causes of errors and identifying any discrepancies with the former business model.
  • Ensuring successful integration by confirming the appropriate implementation of specified functionalities, features, and user requirements.
  • Assessing business processes and implementing modifications to streamline operations, automatize processes and optimize workflows.
• Gather requirements from stakeholders in other units regarding reporting needs and maintain updated lists of necessary regulatory reports.
• Conduct rigorous analysis and verify consistency, accuracy, and compliance of the financial reports with the predefined standards.

You'll be working at the Nordea Headquarter, Metro, next to DR Byen at Grønjordsvej 10, 2300 Copenhagen S. Here you have great transportation opportunities with the metro station just outside the office along with adequate parking opportunities. You’ll have the opportunity to work from home (up to two days per week), although in the beginning it is expected that most workdays are spend with your new team at the office, to get to know each other and establish a good and trusting work relationship.

Your experience and background:

• Minimum of 7 – 10 years proven experience in investment accounting with a solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations such as Solvency II requirements, Danish local GAAP, and IFRS regulations.
• Have a strong understanding of financial instruments within the insurance & pensions industry.
• Proficiency in SAP General Ledger (G/L) is compulsory.
• High proficiency in English and Danish, both written and spoken (professional level).
