We are searching for a
Software Engineer
with experience in Cobol development.
This position is based at our friendly office in Warsaw, and you will join our Investment Management Solutions Team within Wealth Management & Trading. The current solution is mainly on a decentral development platform (BEC PaaS) but there is also a need for Mainframe competencies and for this reason we are looking for a Mainframe developer to join the team.
The team is working on an individual task for the service customer Sparinvest and in close collaboration with team members from Sparinvest and Nykredit. This means that you will be asked to work very closely and directly together with our customers daily. The remaining team consists of Java developers, Business Analysts, Mainframe developer, Product Owner and a Development Manager.
The project has some very ambitious goals and for that reason we are also looking for very ambitious and skilled people to join. It would be an advantage to have some insight into the area of investment, but it is not a requirement, and if you do not have this insight, you could consider this a great opportunity to get insight and experience within this very important and technology driven business area.
At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to eight days per month. Your direct manager will be Kuldeep Sigh.
Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Systems development based on Mainframe development skills.
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code to support varied and complex IT solutions, that fulfil the requirements of our customer Sparinvest.
- Being an active team member and taking responsibility for developing and implementing IT solutions as well as new technologies.
- Preparing technical and procedural documentation associated with IT development.
- Collaborating with the product owner and other teams to ensure the best possible solutions for incoming business requirements.
To succeed you will have:
- Experienced with Cobol, CICS, DB2, JCL, SQL, MQ, JAVA and IDz/RDz.
- Experience working with a decentralized tech stack is definite advantage but not a strict requirement.
- The team is based in Denmark and Poland so experience in working in such a cross-border setup is an advantage.
- Energy, ambition and a willingness to deliver results.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
To succeed you will have:
- Knowledge of investment, securities account and trading business area and systems in general
- Knowledge of front-end development
