Who you will be working with
For the past year we have been establishing the Core M&A Team, with the purpose of handling the expected inflow of M&A transactions impacting Novo Nordisk. The team currently consist of ~15 skilled people supporting the M&A growth agenda in Novo Nordisk.
The Core M&A Team is based in Strategy & Transformation a newly established area with ~100 employees, mainly based out of Denmark (Ballerup). The area also consists of departments such as IT Strategy, Communication, Enterprise Architecture, Business Development as well as a strategic transformation program.
While the role will organisationally be based Strategy & Transformation, it will be presenting to all of DD&IT as well as having diverse stakeholders across the full Novo Nordisk value chain.
Behind the title
As Director of Due Diligence, you will be based in this Core M&A team in DD&IT, reporting to the Vice President of DD&IT, M&A. Overall, you will be responsible for leading M&A activities, initally with focus on Due Diligence and actively participate in building up capabilities in the Core M&A team as well as across DD&IT
Additionally, you can expect your responsibilities to include:
- Participating in both Due Diligence and Integrations for the M&A activtivies in Novo Nordisk
- Communicating and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders through the different M&A phases, depending on deal type and deal structure to make an impact for the better of Novo Nordisk
- Engaging with other areas of DD&IT as well as key stakeholders outside DD&IT and include these when relevant
- Actively participating in building up capabilities together with team members as well as across DD&IT and the value chain
Which competencies to bring
To succeed in this role, we imagine you meet the following:
- Around 10 years of experience in M&A, preferably in large complex organisations where you have been part of the whole process from DD to Closure
- Significant experience from M&A, IT, and the pharma industry would be beneficial
- A master’s degree in business, IT or another relevant field
- Strong combination of technical, business, and analytical skills and can apply these to different problems
- Ability to understand complex areas and create and communicate solutions to be operationalized
On a personal level, you are a team player, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and can build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders on all levels of the organisation. You can work independently and thrive in a busy and global environment where priorities change, and fast decisions are needed to move on.
