Team and Role
As the DevOps Engineer Coordinator, you will be a key member of our Infrastructure & Automation (I&A) team, which is a diverse and dynamic group of professionals. Our team is composed of individuals from various nationalities and educational backgrounds, all working together to achieve our common goals. Your Role
In this role, you will serve as the bridge between the technical engineering team and the broader organization. You will coordinate and lead efforts across various projects, ensuring that our infrastructure and automation solutions are not only technically sound but also align with the strategic objectives of the company. Your role involves both hands-on technical work and leadership responsibilities, requiring you to balance the development and maintenance of our systems with the coordination and support of your team.
You will be responsible for guiding the team through the development and implementation of infrastructure as code, configuration as code, and automated orchestration processes. Your leadership will ensure that these systems are scalable, efficient, and reliable, meeting the high standards required for mission-critical applications.

As a coordinator, you will also play a crucial role in fostering a positive team environment. You will help to create a space where ideas can be freely shared, collaboration is encouraged, and every team member feels valued. Your ability to mentor and support your colleagues will contribute to the continuous improvement and success of the team.
In summary, your role is pivotal in both the day-to-day operations of the I&A team and in driving the long-term success of our projects. You will be the cornerstone of our efforts to deliver high-quality, mission-critical solutions, while also ensuring that our team remains cohesive, motivated, and aligned with the company’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Scriptable Orchestration and Provisioning: Develop and maintain automated orchestration and provisioning scripts to optimize our systems' performance and reliability.
• Infrastructure as Code & Configuration as Code: Lead the development and maintenance of infrastructure and configuration as code, ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable, and easily reproducible.
• Technical Documentation: Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for hardware and software solutions, enabling seamless integration and deployment across projects.
• System Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of development and reference systems, ensuring their readiness and reliability for project delivery.
• Team Collaboration: Actively participate in team events, including planning, refinement, retrospectives, and review & demo sessions, to align efforts and achieve common goals.
• Knowledge Sharing: Engage with fellow engineers in the MDS organization, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
• Testing & Support: Participate in testing activities to ensure that reference systems are operational and deliver the necessary support to users of test environments, optimizing their effectiveness.
• Cultural Contribution: Contribute to creating a positive, healthy, and fun work environment for yourself and your colleagues

Professional Competencies (in order of priority)

• Extensive Experience with Linux (including Scripting) You must have a deep understanding of Linux systems and be proficient in scripting to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
• Network and Database Understanding Strong knowledge of networking principles and database management is essential to ensure seamless integration and performance of our systems.
• Windows and PowerShell Proficiency in Windows environments and PowerShell scripting is required to manage and automate tasks within our diverse IT landscape.
• Virtualization and Container Orchestration Experience with virtualization technologies and container orchestration is vital for maintaining flexible, scalable, and efficient systems.
• Configuration as Code Expertise in developing and managing configuration as code is crucial to maintain consistency and reliability across our infrastructure.

Experience and Capability in a Coordinating Role

• Coordinating Across Teams Proven ability to coordinate efforts across multiple teams, ensuring alignment of goals and smooth execution of tasks.
• Project Management Experience in managing projects or acting as a lead within a team, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
• Stakeholder Communication Skilled in communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing updates, gathering requirements, and managing expectations.
• Problem-Solving Capable of identifying potential issues before they arise and coordinating with relevant teams to implement proactive solutions.
