Senior Storage Specialist

We are looking for a senior/mid senior colleague to join our Storage Team. You will be part of our Global Storage Service team, you will work with your colleagues from Prague as well as from Copenhagen, Denmark.

Your responsibilities
The Czech team has five team members and it is part of our Global Storage Team, which consists of about 16 Storage professionals overall.

You will work on diverse projects and storage platform flavours in the storage area, as well as on operational and maintenance tasks, over Storage systems and Storage-related networks. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and troubleshooting in SAN and storage infrastructures
• Handling change/service requests in connection with expansion and changes
• Commissioning and decommissioning storage to servers
• Building and maintaining of storage replication across storage devices in datacenters
• Performance reporting and tuning
• Hardware refresh initiatives; introducing new platform and technology in to production environment
• Storage patching/upgrades
• Data storage migration planning and projects
• Coordinating with storage vendors
• Ensure architectural and operational documentation and review

All Storage Engineers work on normal business hours from Monday to Friday. Normally there are no night or weekend shifts required but there is an on-call duty during out-of-office hours, on rotational basis, with frequency of about 1 week in every 6 weeks approximately.

Your qualifications
You have a deep and demonstratable knowledge of storage and SAN, and you have taken courses and obtained relevant experience within your field. You communicate well in written and spoken English. You have strong abilities as a trouble-shooter, and you have a structured and analytical approach.

In Aeven, we use storage platforms from various vendors, so it will be an advantage if you have a broader knowledge of the storage market and skills within Hitachi Vantara VSP, Dell PowerMax/VMAX, Dell VPLEX, Dell Isilon/PowerScale, Dell ECS, NetApp, HP 3PAR/Primera, HPE Scality and large Brocade fibre channel fabrics are an advantage but not a prerequisite.
