The Scope of your role
As our Head of Platform & Infrastructure, you will be leading teams responsible for site reliability engineering, the developer experience and the internal platform and tooling. Working closely with your peers responsible for product development, you will lead your area, setting the strategic direction in alignment with the product strategy and ensuring that product teams are enabled and empowered to do their work, while you are also contributing towards setting the bar for technical excellence.

Your team
You will be part of an engineering leadership team, and work with teams located mainly in Denmark, Romania and Portugal. We all meet up physically at least once a year and you will have opportunities to travel to the various locations to meet with teams, but you are expected to be comfortable with managing and working with remote colleagues, and be able to communicate and troubleshoot via online communication.

We respect that we do not all follow the same daily rhythm, but we also enjoy pairing up and huddling on a regular basis, often mobilizing several people during incidents.

Briefly about the broader Products department (R&D)
You will be joining our development organization Products (R&D) with +180 employees, primarily located in Denmark, Romania and Portugal, working with technologies and platforms like C#, React, MS-SQL, MongoDB, GCP, Istio, Cloudflare, Terraform, Datadog, Identity Server, Cortex and Swarmia. We are a diverse group of +20 nationalities, including Developers, Product Managers, QA Engineers and UX Designers.

  • Leader of leaders for teams responsible for site reliability engineering, developer experience, tooling and the platform
  • Raise the bar for the engineering culture and technical excellence throughout the organization

The skills we see you bringing

  • 3-4 years of experience in SRE / DevOps roles or 5-7 years in a developer role
  • 1-2 years of experience as a leader of leaders, or 4-5 years as a leader
  • Proficiency in English
  • Enjoys collaborating and communicating
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Comfortable with making and selling unpopular decisions
  • Previous experience with one of the major Cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Solid experience with any of the following and an interest in the others - the value in brackets is the tech we’re currently using:
    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
    • Continuous Integration (GitHub Actions)
    • Continuous Delivery (ArgoCD, Spinnaker, Packer)
    • Developer Experience / Tooling (Cake, Makefiles)
    • Database Operation (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
    • Containerization & Microservices (Kubernetes, GKE, Helm)
    • Programming (C#, Python, TS, JS)
    • Observability (Datadog)
    • Networking & System Security (Istio, Cloudflare)

The recruitment process

1. Initial screening
Have a chat with Hanne, our Talent Acquisition Partner, for us to learn a bit more about you, for about 30 min.

2. First interview
Meet Jacob Nielsen, our Director of Engineering and Ingrid Stiansen, People Business Partner and Team Manager. This interview will be around 60 minutes.

3. Second interview
Dive deeper into the role together with Jacob and either Casper Bang or Mark Kevings (Head ofs Development), where you'll explore various topics related to the role, with a focus on your technical and leadership perspective.

You’ll receive a case beforehand, which you’ll be expected to present. We anticipate the preparation time to be about 4 hours. Further, prior to this interview, you'll complete a 25-minute personality test. You’ll receive feedback on the test at the end of this interview.

This interview will be around 120 minutes.

4. Third interview
This will be the final interview, where you'll meet Christian Wook, our CPO, and it's expected to be around 30 min.
